If you have been watching the news lately you may have noticed that Tom Brady went back to court for the "Deflategate" scandal and his 4-game suspension was reinstated. Personally I believe this is bulls**t and ridiculous and here is why:
1. Roger Goodell hates us:
Even before this whole Deflategate nonsense, it seems that
Roger Goodell has had some kind of vendetta against the Patriots for really no
reason. He believes it's okay to beat your wife, but if you may or may not have
deflated a ball you definitely need to be suspended.
2. Tom Brady doesn't need his balls deflated.
This "scandal" was brought to light on January 18, 2015; the Patriots were playing the Indianapolis Colts. During half time, the 12 balls were replaced with 12 back up balls by officials, which yes, was suspicious. But after those balls were replaced, who won that game, and then later won the Superbowl? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the Colts.3. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady had nothing to do with the balls
I know that Belichick is probably one of the chattiest coaches in the NFL, filled with wit about "Instaface", and his famous long post-game speeches. After the deflate gate news broke, he made it very clear in 20 words or less that he had nothing to do with, and didn't know anything about the balls being deflated. He even devoted a whole press conference to talking about PSI's and how footballs are made. He talked about the extensive tests he put his QB through to see if he could tell the difference between different pressures in the ball. Bill even cracked a joke about this whole process and how ridiculous it all was, which was basically what we were all thinking.4. Roger Goodell pushed very hard for the four game suspension
Roger Goodell never tried to help Brady at all. In fact he pushed pretty hard for Brady's four game suspension. On September 3, 2015, the U.S. district court went against Roger Goodell's judgement even going so far to say that he "went too far" and they erased Brady's suspension.
5. It's suspicious
Last season the Pats had a great season, even though towards the end it was a little rough with all the injuries. Star players like Gronk being in and then out every game was stressful, but we ended the season 12-4 which was impressive due to all the injuries we had. This whole season Brady played exceptionally well (as always). At the beginning of the season, Deflategate was talked about before every game, but then slowly it died away and was almost forgotten. Since the loss in the AFC championship we have been so eagerly awaiting the return of our beloved team and quarterback, but Roger Goodell and the appeals court crushed our dreams.
6. Ray Rice
Ray Rice punched his wife in an elevator. The whole NFL knew about it including his wife. It was big news and happened around the same time as the Defelategate scandal. Goodell met with Ray Rice to talk punishment, and it was decided by him and the NFL that Rice had to serve a two game suspension; to him, this was a fair punishment. Basically, Goodell thinks that abusing a woman isn't as bad as maybe deflating balls. It wasn't until the video of Rice was released that he was terminated from the league, because Goodell and the NFL had "never seen the footage."
7. Tom Brady is the G.O.A.T.
To cover all the reasons why Brady is such an amazing player would take a whole other article, but here's a summary. Brady holds many records that surpass some of the greatest players in the league, from beating Joe Montana in postseason wins to beating John Elway in playoff-game wining drives. He's been the NFL MVP twice, and SuperBowl MVP three times. He's the only quarterback to lead his team to 12 AFC championship games. And the biggie, he has four rings. Now tell me something Roger Goodell, how many rings does your beloved Peyton Manning have?
So, America and the NFL, leave Brady alone because he is better (and hotter) than anyone else in the league.
And as for Arizona on September 11th, I have one thing to say to say to you...
