7. The most obvious, her dating advice is always on point and she can be honest with you without being harsh. And given the fact that she kinda, you know, is actually a girl, she definitely knows a little more about how women think than you do.
6. She keeps you grounded. In a world of over-inflated egos, and people who read far too into everything (me), she can be there to remind you that not every girl who looks your way is going to be your future wife. Sometimes we need it more than we like to admit, but she knows that, and is always ready to step in and correct us.
5. If you're lucky, she'll also be one of those rare gems in college, who are so smart they usually end up tutoring and factually correcting the professors. I got lucky in that aspect, and let me tell you, the GPA boost I got just being around her was incredible- whether that was intentional on her part or not, I still greatly appreciate it.
4. Ever wanted to watch a movie or go out to eat but didn't want to go alone? Sure, you can call up one of your bros, but it's also a little fun sometimes to go with her. Whether you realize it or not, people will assume you two are together, and one of the best ways to attract a woman is by showing her that you may be unavailable or disinterested.
3. She always has the best ideas of what is and isn't fashionable. It is solely because of my best female friend that I own a cardigan. Granted she "borrowed" it for two of the three months when it was the right temperature to wear it last year, but the point still remains. Though everyone is different, for the most part women know what other women want. And whenever my best friend helped me choose clothes, it always went well for me.
2. With her you can do things that guys "traditionally" don't do on their own. Most guys wouldn’t have a "spa day" by themselves; but going out with her to get a haircut, shave, and maybe even a men's pedicure... Well I'm not saying I've done that, but I am saying I no longer have any remote desire to cut my own toenails if I could pay someone else to do it and give me a foot massage.
1. The more time goes on, the more of a better person you will become. No man should ever be okay with girls getting hurt, but when your best friend is a girl, it really makes you take an interest in making sure nothing bad ever happens. By no means am I usually a violent person, but I have almost fought guys because of my friend.
From St. Louis to Cape Girardeau, my best friend is still someone I talk to constantly, and I call her often for advice on my life. Guys, find yourself a gem. You will be grateful and your future wife will be happy that girl was there to turn you into a better man.
