7 Perfect Gifts For College Students

Its the best time of the year, winter break is right around the corner of finals. It's also the time of year where everyone you know asks for your christmas list. A list is the hardest thing to do at this age in our life. We've out grown the toys, we need to start thinking of things that we can actually use. Yes like clothes and shoes and even some cool tech gear. Alright parents, here are some gift ideas to get your college child.

1. Boots

Yes boots are so very key. Especially during your second semester when it gets cold and snowy. Some great boots that I find helpful during the semester are Uggs, duck boots, rain boots, and riding boots. Uggs are for when it's to cold and your toes can't bare it. Duck boots come in handy when it's raining, snowing, or just cold, they are perfect for any weather that might hit you. Rain boots are also great for the rain and snow. But they don't always keep your feet that warm. Lastly riding boots are a stylish way to dress up your outfit while also keeping your feet warm.

2. A New winter coat

It's getting cold and those long walks to class with the wind piercing your skin is no fun. Add a new winter coat to your list you wont regret it. A few good brands that I've seen around campus are North Face, Patagonia, and Columbus. They all have Fleece jackets and those puffy jackets, not to mention the all time favorite from North Face, the fuzzy/ furry jackets. All these jackets will keep you warm on your walk to class.

3. A bluetooth speaker

Who doesn't love jamming out to some of your favorite songs any where on campus. Thats right even in the shower my friends. My roommate has a Bose bluetooth speaker and we take that with us everywhere we go. However if you want to take it in the shower I do not recommend Bose. On my Christmas list I asked for a waterproof one. You can find them at Target.

4. Netflix subscription

We are all stressed by finals right now. I know I am! Netflix is a great stress reliever, it takes your mind off of all those pesky exams and gives you a chance to relax. I do however advise that you don't forget to study for exams if you get a Netflix.

5. Spotify premium subscription

This is my go to gift this year. I just get so annoyed when I'm studying and I'm in the zone then a commercial comes on my Spotify. Like no what is this? I guess Spotify didn't get the memo that I had a 8 page paper due the next day. If you are a music lover I highly suggest you ask for Spotify premium because almost any song you want to hear is on here and you don't have to worry about the pesky commercials getting in way of your school work.

6. nice headphones

Noise cancelling headsets are a key thing for college kids. Working can be hard when there is other students talking around you in the library or you live on one of thoes crazy halls where people run up and down it screaming. I have a nice set of Bose earbuds which I take everywhere with me. Sorry mom and dad you might have to dish out more then $20 for a nice set of headphones. Also spring for one with a mic in it, you never know when you'll have to record yourself for an assignment, or just want to talk to mom and dad on the phone.

7. gift cards

If all else fails and you don't know what to get your college kid go for a gift card. But make sure they have a place to use it. I always get Starbucks gift cards and I can't even use them when I'm at school. If you don't want to get it for a specific location shoot for the Visa gift cards that can be used anywhere Visa is taken.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
