Phrases I'm Tired Of Hearing In A Break Up

Have you ever had someone end things with you and you can just taste the crappy line their gonna throw your way? Break up with me, end things, do you - but how about we don't use the same line with every person? Now, I've pulled together a group of specialists (aka my friends) to determine what lines deserve to be featured in this article and this is what was determined:

1. "You deserve better."

This is probably my least favorite and most heard line. Next to, "You're too good for me." Which are pretty synonymous, am I right? Because if I truly deserved better, then you should want to be better for me? Except you're too selfish and insecure to realize that you are good enough. I mean, not to be rude, but why would I be dating someone if they didn't treat me correctly? I wouldn't. You've wasted my time and then decide to blame us ending on me because you just can't live up to how awesome I am (which, I mean, is true, but still). Major cop out move here.

2. "You'll forget me and move on."

Will I? Will I really? If I've ever invested time in you, to work with you, or to care about you, I will not forget you. You will always hold a place in my heart and you saying that I will forget you is really just insulting to me, because how heartless do you think I am? And again, this one is born from insecurity.

3. "I'm too busy."

So why did you start talking to me in the first place? You never really had an intention to take it any farther, apparently. You just decided to waste my time to bask in how amazing I am? If you start something knowing you're gonna be too busy to invest the time needed, then sorry, but you kind of suck.

4. "Better now than later."

I mean, in a sick way this is completely right. However, when I'm dating someone, I'm investing my time for the long run and you indicating that it won't work no matter what I do is taking the decision out of my hands and demeaning how I feel and the work I've put in. I understand what you're trying to do, but like, it's not working, bub.

5."I can't compete with everyone else."

Who is asking you to compete with anybody? I mean you caught my eye, you kept my interest, you make me happy. Who even is "everyone else"? Last I checked, my hotline wasn't ringing and even if it was...I picked you and only you.

6. "I love you too much."

Oh my goodness. My friend brought this up and I can't help it, my mouth flopped open like a fish. This is a cop out born and bred through insecurity. You're so scared that the other person will hurt you that you are deciding to hurt yourself. You're really just hurting yourself with this one, dude.

7. "I'm just not ready – right now."

This is just cruel for anyone. You are making a conscious decision to make someone feel bad because you don't want to be with them, but you don't want them to stop wanting you and move on, so you keep them hanging. Because it makes you feel better about yourself to have someone constantly wanting you, no matter how many mistakes you make. It's mean, just plain mean.

Now, I'm not saying to stop using cheesy and very over-used lines, but be honest. If you honestly think you love the other person too much or they deserve better, then say that, but if you're just saying something because you're too scared to say, "I really just wanna drink at the bars and not worry about making out with someone," then say that. Be honest, people, and start thinking a little more.

You can't tell I'm super bitter or anything, right?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
