Six Reasons Why I Miss College Football

College football is seriously the greatest time of year. There are so many teams and so many games worth watching, that mean so much more to students, families, and Americans rather than just mere entertainment. It's a passion and a lifestyle. Once the Championship game is over in January, fans all across the United States are counting down till their teams starts their new season in the fall. Emotions run high all season and being a football fan can sometimes feel like an emotional roller coaster during the games. Mixed with thrill, passion, and commitment, being a football fan is more than just attending the games; it's about the love of your team. Here are six reasons why everyone misses College Football.

1. What's football without tailgating?

Tailgating is filled with great drinks and even better food. Friends and family gather together to share the love of the football and anticipate the game. You watch other games playing and pick which teams are going to win, when ultimately it only matters if your team pulls out that W. Tailgating is the ultimate pre-game and everyone loves to take part in because it just feels American. When it's a big game or even a rivalry the fans get louder, the drinks get stronger, and the love of the game grows larger.

2. The Thrill of the game.

Once you enter the gates the whole mood shifts and you are instantly happy to be there. The crowd is wild and loud and the fans are awaiting the arrival of the home team. Whether your team is running down the hill or sprinting through a tunnel onto the field, your heart races because you know your team is about to get it on.

3. It's a good time with all your friends.

You and your friends are your team's number one fans and being at the game with them only makes it more special. If its with your sorority sisters or guys on your hall, its going to be a great time regardless. Being with friends helps you cope through the bad plays and you always have someone to high five and celebrate touchdowns with.

4. Your team is good.

"Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing."-Vince Lombardi. Nothing makes college football greater when your team actually kicks butt and takes names. Their level of greatness allows you to have pride in your school and it makes you look forward to going to every game. You feel no shame in waiting in line and camping out for weeks to get tickets to a big game or even trying to buy tickets from your old freshman roommate's uncle's brother in law, because the game is THAT important to you and you WILL be at all the games.

5. School Spirit is at an all time high.

Football is the American sport, besides baseball, and college football brings spirit to all colleges across the United States. College football especially is something students and family members of students feel more invested in than other football leagues because they are invested in the school financially. There's nothing like that special school cheer and singing the alma mater at the games to get your blood pumping.

6. You are in a steady relationship with your team.

Yes you get mad at your team when they miss a kick, throw a bad pass, and even miss the touchdown, but you still will be there for them until the clock runs out. You team becomes your family and no matter the wins and losses you will always be proud of them. And you will always love them for years and years to come.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
