High school can be stressful. Things are always changing, and sometimes it's hard to see who's real and who's not. During these years, you have to find yourself and decide who you're going to be. Here are 50 things you should know going into high school:

1. It's OK to do something for someone knowing you won't get anything in return.

2. It's OK to fail a test.

3. It's also OK to pass a test and make an A.

4. To live for Jesus means to love others.

5. That includes your math teacher.

6. And the weird kid who sits by himself in class.

7. And yes, even your ex-friend who hurt you.

8. Never forget that the best memories are the ones you can remember.

9. Never ever keep things inside; find a friend and vent to them. But make sure it's one you trust.

10. Try to keep a positive opinion on everyone.

11. Loyalty is golden.

12. So is your innocence.

13. Never settle for someone who half loves you.

14. High school years aren't the best of your life, but make memories as if they're going to be.

15. It's not OK to leave people out.

16. Be your own best friend. Yes. Have friends. But you are either your biggest enemy or your biggest motivator. Your choice.

17. Keep your friends close, and know who the real ones are. But never be afraid to spend time alone.

18. In fact, be CHOOSEY in who you hangout with. Remember you are an average of the five people you spend the most time with.

19. Don't be a slut. Not even a closet slut. Same for the boys. Respect yourself more than that.

20. Don't hold grudges. Life is too short.

21. It's OK to say no.

22. Sports aren't everything, but if you choose them, always strive to be a better athlete than you were yesterday.

23. High school relationships are fun, but way overrated. People change. Don't ignore that.

24. Take the picture.

25. Be yourself.

26. And for goodness sake, it's OK to be different.

27. Pay attention in class.

28. People will laugh, but it's not cool to always be in trouble.

29. Also not cool to be disrespectful. To anyone. Not a teacher. Or someone younger. Be better than that.

30. Suicide will only give your pain to everyone else. It's never your only option -- and no, people won't be happier when you're gone.

31. Don't be judge mental. Talk to the weird kid. Make friends with an outcast.

32. Be kind. You never know what anyone -- even your best friend -- woke up to.

33. Don't date a player.

34. Even when he tells you what you wanna hear.

35. People can change but don't count on it.

36. You deserve mutual relationships.

37. You'll do better if you dress nicer. But it's OK to wear sweats and a tshirt. You do you.

39. It's OK to be the DD.

40. The ACT is overrated. It doesn't define you. Try your best anyways.

41. Mistakes are OK. But learn from them.

42. You are your biggest critic. Take a breath. Pray. Let God lead you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

43. Don't ever shame your ex. Boyfriend, girlfriend, even friend. You once loved them. Don't forget that.

44. You were pretty before they told you.

45. Don't worry so much.

46. Pray for your future. Pray for your college friends. Pray for your future husband/wife.

47. Strength comes from hardship.

48. There is always someone watching.

49. Someone always looks up to you. And they're not always younger.

50. Your mom is your biggest fan.

51. Be a silent leader. Speak with actions not your words.

Highschool can be rough and at times you'll feel alone, but never give up, and always let God take your worries. Be the friend you need. Walk the extra mile. Never burn bridges. Be the light and be a leader. You should live to the fullest and avoid having regrets.

Best wishes from a has-been.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
