5 Things You Should Stop Doing on Game Day

Come on people, you're embarrassing us.

5 Things You Should Stop Doing on Game Day
@JG24gardner

Every Saturday Night in Death Valley is a night I never get back. These four years go by so quickly and every single second I spend cheering on the Tigers is something I cherish. I've never been more passionate, loyal, or crazy about something in my life as I am about cheering on the Tigers. Well, other than hating Alabama.

With that being said, here are the 5 things every LSU student has got to stop doing on game day.

1. Booing Anthony Jennings

For starters, he's 19 years old. If I were 19 years old, there is no way in the world I'd be able to run out and do what he does in front of 90,000+ people. Are there times that he could do a much better job at QB? Absolutely. Are there times he shouldn't be on the field? Yes! However, that isn't our call to make. We have coaches for a reason. They know who should and shouldn't be on the field and I'm sure they have a reason for keeping him out there when we think he shouldn't be. Trust Les. I know it sucks, but at least try.

2. Leaving Early

Is this a new LSU trend? If so, let's end it and fast. Those boys work their butts off day in and day out to win. If they don't, all they hear is crap from a bunch of their fellow classmates who really couldn't play football at LSU if their lives depended on it. Stop leaving early and cheer on the team who works tirelessly to bring our school victory.

3. Wearing Weird Colors

Maybe you didn't get this when you got accepted into LSU, but our colors are purple in gold. Our motto is Love Purple. Live Gold. Purple. Gold. Got it? Good.

4. Fighting

Are we not old enough to grasp the concept of social media?! Everything we do is put under a microscope because we're Greek and we go to a highly publicized university. You can't go to a school like LSU and expect to be invisible any time something negative shows up on social media. So all these fights that are happening on the Parade Grounds because someone's music is a little too loud are pathetic and immature. Let's class it up, folks.

5. Disrespecting Tradition

There's just some things we do as LSU students. Whether the tradition is new or old, it's tradition and as a student you should take pride in it. Stop goofing off and sing the alma mater. You only get four years to do it in the student section. Stop stomping every time there's a break in the "Star Spangled Banner" and sing it with pride because you live in America. Stop showing up so late you miss "Calling Baton Rouge" and "Louisiana Saturday Night." It's traditions like these that make being an LSU student so special. Enjoy them.

Be thankful. Be proud. Geaux Tigers!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
