I don't know about any of you guys, but I've never watched a full football game. The thought of football makes my head hurt honestly. But, the Super Bowl was yesterday and I went to a friends house with my boyfriend and I was basically forced to watch the game. However, I didn't mind. This is what I learned:
1. You don't need a huge TV to enjoy the game.
I always thought that you needed to have a TV from ceiling to floor to have a good time watching the Super Bowl. But in reality, the TV is just a part of it. It's not the key.
2. There will always be a ton of food at any Super Bowl party.
It's basically like Thanksgiving 2.0. Whether its wings, fries, burgers, pasta, or salad, there is a ton of food. We're all thankful for some good old fashion American football.
3. Some commercials really do suck sometimes.
I thought Super Bowl commercials were supposed to be amazing, hilarious, and everything in between. But no. Some of them are just straight up sad.
4. Football is painful to watch.
Watching these men tackle each other for a leather ball made me cringe several times... Ankles turning, heads colliding... I don't know how their brains haven't fallen out yet.
5. It's all about who you watch the game with.
It doesn't matter where you are, how big your TV is, or how much food you have. What really makes a good Super Bowl party is the company you're with. That's what really made my experience great. I was laughing the entire time, and even though I barely knew what was going on, I had an amazing time. I haven't laughed that hard and smiled that much in a really long time.
So you can enjoy football even if you have no idea what's going on.
