Just last week, I was talking to a friend who was struggling with where he was at in life. He kept saying over and over again that he felt "stuck." He's not unhappy or anything. He just felt as though he'd fallen victim to the same cycle and schedule, day in and day out. This is a cycle that he didn't want to be a part of anymore, yet he feels trapped in.
This happens from time to time. As humans, we have a tendency to feel trapped and consumed by our jobs, our school work, our careers, and maybe even our relationships. However, being stuck is only temporary. Anyone who knows me knows that I believe you can get yourself out of any situation. You are not obligated to do any certain thing; Do what it is you want to do. Take that risk.
To assist my optimism, here are five quotes that I find exceptional during those rugged times where you may feel stuck.
"Far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." – Teddy Roosevelt
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you've come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome." - Unknown
“I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth, then I ask myself the same question.” - Harun Yahya
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become." - Steve Jobs
