7 Instagram Accounts That Will Make Your Life Complete
Ashlynn Burk

If you are like me, you vicariously live through other’s Instagrams. Places you haven’t traveled; words you can’t eloquently express; people you wish you were. If your Instagram feed looks a little dry, here are some of my personal favorites.

1. @ashlynnmburk

@ashlynnmburk is my favorite Instagram account of all time. Filled to the brim with aesthetically pleasing photographs and occasionally self-deprecating captions. Her account is poetry in motion. Honestly, I check this Instagram even when I know she hasn’t uploaded anything new. When I do, I fall in love with her content all over again -- I’m that obsessed.

2. @lora.mathis

@lora.mathis -- How to describe them? Preaching radical softness as a weapon, Lora Mathis confronts issues like identity and depression. Their poetry inspires, empowers and tears you apart -- just to put you back together again. Lora is also a feminist, which is always a plus.

3. @alu.naes

I have recently discovered Karina Padilla on her account @alu.naes, and I immediately fell in love. Her content is down to earth; she embraces body-positivity; her artistic style moves me in a way I can not explain. Her art is not conventionally beautiful, but instead captivating in a way that keeps your attention and refuses to relinquish it. Based in New York City, she recently traveled to Mexico to visit family and embrace more of her heritage. I wish I had been able to go with her.

4. @cleolazuli

@cleolazuli -- basically, I want to be her when I grow up (as if I'm not older than her). She is who I wish I was when I was 17. Follow her if you want to feel young and free again. Or if you want make-up inspiration and suggestions.

5. @beverlylove

If you are not familiar with @beverlylove, then you should be. An illustration student, Bev Johnson consistently uploads samples of her art; you are impressed all over again with each piece. The loose and whimsical style simply whisks you away. When uninspired and stuck, I often study her Instagram feed.

6. @janciie

@janciie ... I don't know who she is, and you most likely don't either. But I love the little snippets of her life with each picture she uploads. After examining her feed, I always feel a bit more at peace.

7. @fortheloveofwanderlust

For all of the travelers and adventurers and people who wish to journey but are stuck in their apartment, follow Paige Wunder @fortheloveofwanderlust. Her photography steals your breath away. She makes me want to pack my cheap duffel bag and buy an airplane ticket to anywhere that isn't here.

Why are the previously listed accounts, these random people, my Instagram favorites? Overall, their content takes you away. They inspire your wanderlust. They allow you little sneak peeks into their perspective of the world and its wonders.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
