6 Food Instagram Accounts You Should Be Following

Who doesn't love drooling over pictures of classy brunches, baked treats and mouth-watering french fries? (Answer: definitely not me, considering half of the Instagram accounts I follow are food ones). Food Instagram accounts are all over the place these days, and if you say you have never tried to get that perfect angle on a delicious plate yourself, you're probably lying. Here are the accounts that provide my favorite food porn pics:

1. food_ilysm

This was one of the first food accounts I ever stumbled upon, and I have never stopped loving it. Run by three girls at colleges around the world, the account provides a variety of delicious meals and desserts from five-star restaurants as well as small college town establishments. They're simple and straightforward, and they're just here to make you drool on your phone screen.

2. comeaqui

Bringing a little international flair to this post, comeaqui is one of my favorite food Instagram accounts that showcases foods outside of the US. As a lover of both food and Spanish, who dreams to travel to Spain someday, the pictures of amazing international dishes give me a definite sense of wanderlust along with a growling stomach. They provide a true food experience through their posts.

3. clean_eats_szn

I'm admittedly not a very healthy eater, but the posts on this account make my mouth water nonetheless. Pictures of super colorful and healthy food take over this Insta page, inspiring you to eat only juice and vegetables for a long time. This account manages to make eating healthy look genuinely fun and trendy, a hard thing to accomplish when in competition with all the dessert food accounts out there.

4. dessert_lover

Speaking of delectable dessert accounts, here's my personal favorite. "Life is short, eat dessert first" claims their bio, a slogan I definitely live by. From cake pops to cookies to slutty brownies and everything in between, this chocolate-filled food account has no shortage of sweetness to feast your eyes upon.

5. nolafoodgals

New Orleans is not only the best city in the world, it also is home to some of the best food in the world. The cuisine of NOLA is unlike anywhere else, a fact that nolafoodgals always captures in their pretty pictures. King Cake, jambalaya, oysters, po-boys, the list goes on. This account is my go-to when I'm looking for a new restaurant to try (and some new eye candy).

6. foodintheair

For me, this account is more about the aesthetic than the food. It combines delicious items with amazing backgrounds from all over the world, making it a food and travel account all wrapped up in one. Every picture has such a cool look, making you wish you could teleport to that exact location with the food in your mouth ASAP.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
