Finding things to do during the summer that are fun and reasonably priced can be extremely difficult. You know how it is, you want to have a great time and hang out with friends, but everything costs money... and lots of it. For awhile now I have been struggling with finding things to do in Cincinnati that my friends and I can enjoy without spending a ton of money. Are you in the same boat? Then keep on reading, because here is a list of fun activities and places to go in Cincinnati!
1. Parks.
Cincinnati is known for it's parks. From popular parks like Ault and Smale, to smaller parks like Alms and Woodland Mound, there is always a park near you! Grab your friends and have a picnic or just walk around. It's a great way to spend your day without spending a whole lot of money!
2. Check out events at Washington Park and Fountain Square.
Both of these places always have events going on in the summer. Washington Park hosts a city flea market once a month, free movie nights, and free workout nights! Fountain Square sometimes has concerts going on, and they host salsa night every Thursday evening in during the summer, and many more fun events. Check out their websites the next time you need something to do, chances are you'll find an activity that suits your interests.
3. Go to a Reds game or an FC Cincinnati game.
Who doesn't love sporting events? Both of these have such fun atmospheres and you can purchase tickets for pretty cheap!
4. Hiking/bike rides.
There are so many nature trails and bike trails around the area. From California Woods to the Ohio River Trail, you can grab your friends and go on a hike or a bike ride and spend a nice day outside!
5. Cincinnati Observatory.
I have yet to go here, but it looks like a ton of fun. The observatory is home to the world's oldest telescope; they have both guided and self-guided tours, as well as other events throughout the year! I'll definitely be checking this out soon!
Don't stay inside this summer while there's so much going on in your city around you!
