There's so much to love about the best season of the year.

40 Reasons to Love the Fall
Mr. Wallpaper

We have officially transitioned into the greatest season of the year.

I would just like to add my voice to the songs of praise for this perfect season.

Here are a bunch of reasons why Fall is the best.

1. THE COLORS

The world looks unreal.

2. The cool breeze that comes to caress your face and tell you, “Everything will be alright.”

It has come to blow the leaves and all your troubles away.

3. The way the air smells

Crisp and cool and perfect.

4. The way the air smells when you burn the BEST SCENTED CANDLES EVER

I will burn all of them at the same time. (Don't tell my landlord.)

5. This stuff is on sale everywhere!!

You either love it or you hate it. It seems that nobody feels indifferent toward candy corn. Either way, it’s here. And if you love it, that’s super exciting. And you know that the pumpkin shaped kind is the best kind.

6. Reese’s Pumpkins

They just taste better than the regular ones. More peanut butter-y goodness inside, I think.

7. Pumpkin spice Oreos because THAT’S TOTALLY A THING NOW!

Just when you thought that milk’s favorite cookie couldn’t get better… it became the PSL’s favorite cookie. The cookie is sort of graham cracker-y and the filling is like extra sweet pumpkin pie. What a time to be alive.

8. All the spooky candy

Because all sweets just taste better when they are shaped like spooky things. (Note: Candy corn Oreos are also a thing now!!)

9. The sound of leaves crunching under your feet when you walk outside

Aaaaaaw yeeeaaaa… So. Satisfying.

10. Raking leaves into a pile and jumping into them

Just remember the advice of our wise friend Linus:

“Never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker.”

11. The Great Pumpkin

This beautiful animation will be airing on TV soon. I can’t let a year pass by in which I do not sit down with cookies and milk and watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. I never want to see world where trick-or-treaters don’t understand the reference, “I got a rock.”

12. ALL THE HALLOWEEN MOVIES

Pardon me while I plan my marathon.

13. Hocus Pocus

Because it deserves it’s own place on this list.

14. The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Because its just great.

15. The movies that are actually really scary

Because watching scary movies gets so much better when the sun starts setting earlier and the air gets chilly.

16. Scarecrows

For some reason these guys become a staple of interior and exterior design and I’m not mad about it.

17. Hay

This also becomes decorative for some reason?? Still not mad. It smells really good.

18. The produce

Pumpkin, squash, apples, corn, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, pears, broccoli, pomegranates, cranberries... Everything that is in season right now is wonderful.

19. The Harvest Moon

She usually makes her appearance right around the equinox and dang is she purty.

20. The desserts

Caramel apples and pumpkin pie and everything apples and pumpkin and cinnamon and warm uuuuuuhh

21. I’m gonna say it…

It can’t be avoided…

PUMPKIN. SPICE. LATTES.

And machiattos, and mochas, and cappucinos, and regular ol’ coffee… I want pumpkin in all of my caffeinated drinks please.

22. Pumpkin flavored… everything.

Cookies and cakes and muffins and bread and pies and candy and coffee. It just makes all good things better.

23. Carving pumpkins.

Ain’t nothing like getting covered and string-y goop and then roasting the seeds while you give the best vegetable ever a *glowing* personality.

24. Just… Pumpkins.

Picking them and carving them and finding ways to eat pumpkin in every meal. What did we do to deserve them?

25. Boots.

The best shoe there is. No matter what your style is… The right boots improves every fall ensemble. Not to mention enhancing overall comfy-and-cozy-ness while making one feel super powerful.

26. Corn mazes.

Because being lost in a corn maze is way more fun than being lost in.. literally anywhere else. I once went to a corn maze that had a huge pit of corn kernels. Like a ball pit… but corn.

I was finding corn in my clothes for days and it was so great.

27. Halloween

Hallo. Frickin’. Ween.

28. Trick-or-treating

It’s a bit weird to beg for candy as an adult… But it’s still really fun to pass out candy to kids. It’s like you spent your whole childhood running around gathering candy to earn your place as the next giver of joy to children.

29. Costumes

I’ve been planning mine for months… But this is generally the peak time of year to begin one’s costume planning/making/shopping. It’s a joy for all ages. Never be the person that goes to the party in that “This is my costume” T-shirt. How many times a year do you get to be literally anything you can possibly want or imagine?? Take the opportunity!!

30. Sweaters.

For humans and dogs alike.

31. The animals

All the little animals are packing it in for the winter and getting fluffy and chubby and even more adorable than they were before.

32. The animals… In decor

All the cute little creatures that are preparing for winter also become a big part of decorating. How darn charming.

33. Homecoming

School can definitely suck sometimes… But suddenly everyone in your school has a reason to like everyone and work together on things and partake in healthy fun and competition and gosh it’s just a really wholesome and cute time. Even now that I'm done with school, it warms my heart to see Homecoming photos.

34.The awful bugs are GONE!!

The bugs that have wreaked havoc on our outdoor activities for so long suddenly, magically, disappear. *sigh of relief*

35. After Halloween, when all the candy goes on sale.

If you didn’t get to beg your neighbors for candy in a costume, now is your time to rejoice.

36. Thanksgiving

Yes… the stories we are taught in elementary school are skewed… but putting that aside… It’s a great tradition to celebrate because it brings us together with the people we love and reminds us to count our blessings. Let’s stop doing the construction paper pilgrim and Native American costumes and keep the good stuff, eh?

37. The Thanksgiving parades

Whether you are watching from your home in your pajamas, or shivering in the crowd outside to experience it in person, you are sharing something with millions of other people across the States. You are sharing a celebration of abundance and togetherness and thankfulness. That doesn't happen every day, and I think it's pretty neat.

38. The ongoing feeling of warmth and gathering

As the weather gets colder, we naturally begin to gravitate toward each other for warmth. There’s an overlying sense of sharing and coming together all through the season. Love and friendship is in the air.

39. When it rains

Autumn rain has a completely different feeling from summer rain. It doesn’t leave the world humid and heavy, but cool and crisp. It leaves a different smell in the air. And it just feels really nice to sit by a window during a cool autumn rain with a warm drink.

40. It's only the beginning of the celebrating!!

These months can be the busiest time of the year, and that is why they are so awesome! There is so much to celebrate and be thankful for. The falling leaves, the changing weather, the animals preparing to hibernate... It's all happening so that there can be new beginnings next year. And with everything going on, these months can fly right by. Don't let them. Don't wait them out until spring comes again. Savor every little wonderful part of this time of year. It's not the end of summer, or the end of a year. It is its own beginning.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
