33 Things Ball State Students Relate To
Wikipedia

After a year of being a college student at Ball State University, I have learned that attending BSU is an adventure within itself. Whether you have been here for four full years, or even just a semester, there are so many things all Cardinals will claim as true and most would not change their crazy experiences for the world. I personally know that after two semesters, I have picked up trends that it seems all of everyone here can relate to themselves. Here are 35 things that all Ball State University students will be able to relate to and forever look back on.

1. Fearing the crowd in the Atrium at noon.

2. The miserable walk to your 9 a.m. in Cooper.

3. Suffering the no-air-conditioning life in Lafollette as a freshman.

4. Referring to Muncie as “Funcie.”

5. Praising the convenience of your sorority suite in the middle of campus between classes.

6. Spending all of your dining plus on coffee and Redbull, and the last month of the semester calculating all your food prices.

7. Knowing the shortest route possible to riverside.

8. Waiting a good 30 minutes in Woodworth’s stir fry line... it’s worth it.

9. Puertas is no longer just a restaurant, it’s a way of life.

10. The "long" walk from Lafollette to the student center.

11. Squeezing four to six roommates into a small Muncie house.

12. Speaking of compact spaces, frat packing is very real.

13. Having at least one friend in another Greek chapter, no matter which you are a member of.

14. And also having non-Greek friends.

15. Apple skol. Nuff said.

16. Always telling yourself you will make it into the game after a tailgate (you never do).

17. Watermelon bust is the second-best fall Saturday event (next to tailgates of course).

18. #clubbracken

19. Going to the rec just to peak over at all the basketball players.

20. Checking your bus app constantly to make perfect timing so you can avoid standing in the cold.

21. The hall connecting Robert Bell and Arts and Journalism building is your life-saver on rainy and freezing cold days.

22. Most of your friends you have made here are from Indiana, making seeing all of your college friends at home so easy.

23. You’ll never turn down a registered fraternity party- especially if its themed.

24. Walking in the village, waiting for the day you turn 21 and can get into Brother’s.

25. Who could turn down insomnia at 1 a.m.?

26. Or better yet, Cousin Vinny’s at 2 a.m.

27. Standing at the bus stop on a weekend afternoon… oh wait.

28. Fort Lauderdale and South Padre will forever be the best spring break destinations.

29. Rolling out of bed 15 minutes before class and making it in perfect timing.

30. Hoping that maybe one day you’ll stop receiving emails just to tell you your “blackboard update.”

31. St. Patty's Day: 1 You: 0

32. Overhearing tour groups and learning something new about the campus on a weekly basis.

33. Even when compared the Big 10 schools in Indiana, you always have pride in BSU and wouldn’t change your experience for the world.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
