Growing up, I realized that I would have a few best friends throughout my life. Unfortunately, some would come and go, but the one best friend who would always stay by my side would be my mom. No matter what the circumstances, you would sit with me on my bed, wipe the tears away from my eyes and tell me that "if they left when times got tough, they were not a true friend. Just appreciate those who will stay by your side even on your darkest days”. I know I can always count on you to not only be a mother figure to me but also a best friend, and that is why I am forever grateful for you.

- You give me fashion advice (and let me borrow your clothes)
- You keep all of my secrets
- You are my role model in every single way
- You have my back no matter what
- You tell me when I am wrong, and it makes me a better person
- You sat through every sporting event of mine, no matter how busy you were
- You are my biggest fan
- You let my best friends call you “Mom”
- You taught me to “always give more than you take”
- You listen to me rant about something (or someone) that bothers me
- You take me to church and remind me to pray
- You taught me to respect my elders
- You remind me that I am beautiful when I don’t feel it
- You are my nurse when I am sick
- You would give your last penny to me
- You were the best Girl Scout Leader
- You would say “Dear Saint Anthony” when I lost something, and it would always reappear (eventually)
- You taught me the value of family
- You helped me with homework (even when you didn’t know what was going on)
- You always make me bring a sweater so I’m not cold
- You don’t let me watch too much TV
- You taught me to always use “the buddy system”
- You took pictures as I grew up so I would have many memories
- You challenge me everyday
- You taught me how to cook old family recipes
- You are patient when I am anything but that sometimes
- You inspire me through your strength
- You taught me to always say “I love you” before I leave
- You are the best mom, and I aspire to be half as amazing of a mom as you are one day
This one is for you, Mom, I can’t thank you enough for all of the sacrifices that you have made for me. I only hope to be as beautiful, strong, and loving as you are when I am a mom. Being your daughter, and best friend has been a blessing, and I am forever grateful to have you. I love you!
