In the everyday hustle and bustle that is life, it’s tough to be able to take a breather. It doesn’t matter if you’re an introvert, extrovert, or a whatever-vert: it is important that everyone gets some solitude. While humans are social creates, we are only meant to do so much until our energy is caput. So, in case you are not convinced, here are three reasons why you should take a day to just be with yourself.
1) You Get To Enjoy Your Own Company
While being in your own company may not always be the best, taking purposeful time to be with yourself is imperative to your physical and mental health. After all, we’re only human. We need a chance to recharge! You want to be in you pajamas all day? Go for it! Wanna binge watch a show on Netlfix? Hell yes! Wanna finally clean your room?....okay maybe not so much that one. But hey, baby steps.
2) Alone Time Is Relaxing
Ever have one of those days where literally everything is irritating you? Imagine getting a chance to be rid of that. By taking time for yourself, you can focus on what makes you happy. By focusing on your happiness, you can recharge and get back out there with all the energy you need! Not to mention, your physical and mental health will thank you for it.
3) You Get To Appreciate The Little Things
As I’ve gone through life, I’ve noticed that this becomes a rarity among people. Sure, we enjoy those big moments where we really accomplish something that will push us into our future…but what about those moments that remind you that your life is going well? By taking time to be alone, you get a chance to reflect on how you’re doing, and what/who you appreciate in your life. It helps you to place things into perspective when you’re stressed, and it keeps anxiety at bay.
While these reasons may not be earth shattering, or are probably very obvious, it’s important to be reminded of them. No matter where you are in life, anything can get a little crazy and overwhelming at points. Just because you have a million and one reasons why alone time is just not in the cards for you, you can at least say there is one important reason why you need it; you need it for you. Never under estimate the power of that one important reason…or these three!
