3 Questions From A Rams Fan To Stan Kroenke

The past week has been a difficult one for many people living in the St. Louis area. With the Rams moving back to California the city finds itself without an NFL franchise for the second time. Being a Rams fan myself I felt it necessary to vent my frustrations in the form of questions to the owner of the franchise. Before I begin, however, let me state that I also vented my frustrations in a less eloquent manner on display in this video.

1. Why did you lie to the city of St. Louis?

Stan Kroenke became the majority owner of the Rams in 2010. In one of his first press releases, he stated, I've never had any desire to lead the charge out of St. Louis. That's not why we're here. We're here to work very hard and be successful in St. Louis”. This was obviously proven to be false as Kroenke did just that. For a man who claims to love both Missouri and St. Louis, he certainly did neither any favors. Moving the Rams out of the area takes away a revenue stream that will be extremely difficult to replace, and a void that will take years to fill.

2. Why didn’t you help pay for a stadium in St. Louis?

In the lease on the Rams former stadium, the Edward Jones Dome, it was stated that the stadium must be in the top twenty-five percent of all stadiums in the NFL. This was a point of contention for several years and was one of Kroenke's most commonly cited reasons for wanting to relocate. If it was his hope that the Rams play in a top tier stadium, then why didn’t he try to help build it? This same man is spending $2.66 billion on a stadium in Inglewood, California and $550 million in relocation fees. This is despite the fact that the city of St. Louis met its obligation to provide both a plan and funding of $477 million dollars for a new state of the art stadium. With funds available to meet the lease requirements, why didn’t Kroenke offer to use any part of his $7.5 billion net worth?

3. Why do you keep buying sports teams when you’re so awful at it?

Under Kroenke's ownership, the Rams posted a collective record of 36-59 and ranked in the bottom four in home game attendance. The Denver Nuggets, another one of Kroenke's franchises, ranked last in attendance for home games last season in the NBA. Kroenke's Colorado Avalanche are consistently in the bottom ten in home game attendance in the NHL. Each of these teams has seen poor attendance as a result of poor play.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
