Every once in a while, we get a little bored. I know I do. So for your entertainment, these are some ideas for the next time you find yourself bored.

1) Stare at the ceiling.

2) Count to 1 million without messing up.

3) Play Mario Kart and do every single track backwards.

4) Make your own words search puzzle, make the words really difficult to find and then give it to your professor to find the words.

5) Watch ice melt.

6) Pick 3 shows on Netflix with at least 12 season and binge watch all of them.

7) Read the Bible, preferably the Old Testament. (it’s ok to be productive.)

8) Google to top 10 saddest movies on Netflix and watch them all without crying. If you cry, start over.

9) Draw things while hanging upside down to get a better perspective.

10) Try to make a Christmas bow without using Pinterest.

11) Bake something without using spoons.

12) Clean out your room/car. Unless you’re a neat freak. In that case, pick something else.

13) Go to a shoe store and try on the ugliest pair of shoes you can find and then ask the sales associate if they think they look nice.

14) Start a novel.

15) Do 17 half jumping jacks. 20 is asking too much.

16) Take 20 minutes and write a short story using the word eggs as many times as you can. Then read it out loud.

17) Take a nap. With a puppy. (Always a good idea)

18) Go to Walmart and look at the clearance aisle.

19) Get some orange sherbet ice cream and some gingerale and make punch.

20) Go through all of your clothes and make a pile of clothes you like and some you like less.

21) Practice lucid dreaming.

22) Write down 25 of the dumbest questions you can think of and then ask them to people you run into at college.

23) Write letters to your friends at other colleges.

24) Send care packages to your siblings at home.

25) Call your mom and tell her you love her and miss her.

These are just some funny ideas that may or may not be logical things to do. They are for your enjoyment and laughter. I hope you all have a fantastic week!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
