25 Songs To Get You Through The Week

I may or may not have a slight obsession with music. I'm guilty of singing along to my favorite songs in the shower, in my car, on my walk to class, literally everywhere because it just puts me in a good mood. I created a Spotify playlist a few years ago and I try to keep it under control but I literally have 342 songs in it right now. I can't help it. So here is my list, for you, to help you make it through this week a little less worse for wear.

1. Follow Me - Uncle Kracker

Okay so I'm aware that this is an old one but I guarantee that it will put you in a better mood.

2. Her (Loving You) - Glades

3. Only Love Can Hurt Like This - Paloma Faith

A go-to car jam.

4. Sexual Healing (Kygo Remix) - Marvin Gaye

5. Sleep on the Floor - The Lumineers

Warning: May make you feel extremely nostalgic for travel

6. Never Loved Me - Wish I Was

UGH SO GOOD. MUCH EMOTION.

7. Be Still - The Killers

Probably one of my absolutely favorite songs, it just has such a relaxing quality about it.

8. Gettin' Jiggy With It - Will Smith

For when you're having a real sh*tty day and need to get out of your funk.

9. The Ocean - Mike Perry, Shy Martin

10. Marathon - Lost Kings, Cosmos & Creatures

11. Home We'll Go (Take My Hand) - (Michael Burn Remix), Steve Aoki, Walk Off the Earth

12. Move Along - The All American Rejects

13. September - Earth Wind & Fire

If this isn't played at my wedding I will be a very unhappy girl.

14. New York City - The Chainsmokers

15. Go Ahead and Break My Heart - Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani

For the country fan in all of us.

16. Somebody Else - VÉRITÉ

17. F.U. - Little Mix

18. Happy Together - The Turtles

19. Hero - Family of the Year

20. California - blink-182

21. Coffee - Miguel, Wale

23. B.O.M.O - Tatiana Manaois

24. Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol

A classic.

25. Changing - John Mayer

I really wanted to keep this list going but I figured I ought to leave some room for you to add your own favorites. So go on, turn your speakers up and cruise through this week.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
