When you go to Wake Forest, you’re bound to be a part of certain traditions and inside jokes that people outside “The Forest” just don’t understand. The only way to truly appreciate Wake in all of its glory is to accept all of the campus’s quirks for what they are- the most memorable parts of the Wake Forest experience.
So with that, here are 25 signs you go to Wake Forest:
1. You eat at “The Pit”. Mmm yummy!
2. The top hat emoji is always in your recently used.
3. You roll the quad after every big sports win!
4. You then immediately regret rolling the quad after going to the bathroom and realizing there is no toilet paper anywhere on campus…
5. The only time you go to Subway is after 2 am.
6. You’re surprised to hear that Dean Shore is not an actual Dean.
7. You’re more likely to wear a Lilly dress to a football game, than a Wake jersey.
8. Your Chucks are a point of pride, even though they’re always covered in frat sludge.
9. You’ve painted a cooler at least once in your time here.
10. You consider everything to be true if it’s on Yik Yak.
11. Diversity on campus is defined by the different colors of Barbour jackets.
12. Last Resort is a fitting title for our school’s bar.
13. You drink Arnold Palmers to show your school spirit.
14. Constantly being asked, “What is a demon deacon?”
15. And, “Why isn’t your school in Wake Forest?”
16. You register for a class. It is in Tribble. You drop the class.
17. Your friends are scared for you when you explain how you get to parties.
18. You’re more likely to wear Lululemon leggings, a sorority t-shirt, and running shoes to class than an actual outfit.
19. You say, “Go Deacs!” during awkward moments/ to end your thoughts.
20. You never miss a tailgate, and rarely make it to a game.
21. You’re a fan of the PGA tour, the Spurs, and the Clippers because of these famous WFU alumni: Arnold Palmer, Tim Duncan and Chris Paul.
22. You never start the night off at DKE but somehow you always make it there.
23. The Chapel is not as sacred as you might think ;)
24. Everyone always talks about how good your sports teams used to be.
25. You believe campus police and the devil may as well be the same when it comes to parking.
This list reminds all of us, who go to Wake Forest, of how amazing our school truly is. Wake may have flaws but you can’t beat this college experience. I can’t wait to get back to Wake and enjoy another year in the Forest.
