I just recently turned 21, a couple of days ago. 21st birthdays are suppose to be "magical". My 21st birthday wasn't very magical, it was on a Monday so I did nothing special. On Sunday I hangout with a couple of friends until about 2 a.m., but what we did stays a secret. So here are 21 things I MUST do while I still am 21-years-old.
1.Buy myself a drink
I am 21, officially legal to drink, everyone expects this on a list like this so I went on ahead and put it as number one. Definitely trying new drinks, and not in hiding this time. It would be even better if instead of me buying myself a drink, someone else buys it for me (this goes to everyone who is reading this and knows me).
2. Decorate my dorm room
It's going to be my last year in college, and every year I never put any effort into decorating my room. So I have decided to decorate it this year; let's make my last year a good one. By the way, by decorating I mean putting empty bottles of alcohol on my study table.
3. Exercise
Yeah... I want to live past 21-years-old.
4. Play video games
Not that I don't do already, you just need to know that I will keep doing it. Looking at the next year there are many great titles coming out: Mass Effect, Detroit: become human, Mafia 3. Yes, I'm sort of a gaming nerd, if you're not you haven't lived life.
5. Study for GRE
This is one of the hardest things in this list, but I need to get a good score in this test, Harvard just wait.
6. Get into graduate school
By the beginning of 2017 I hope to know which graduate school I am completing my Industrial/Organizational psychology program. Harvard just wait.
7. Make money
Don't know how it will happen, but it will.
8. Get a driver's licence
I have been trying to do this for some time now, but I am the closest I have ever been, as close as I have been since I got my permit which was almost 2 years ago. But this needs to be done.
9. Eat healthy- maybe
I love food, and the greaser the tastier. But things have to change because soon my metabolism might not be as efficient, and high cholesterol might be on the raise. Again, I am trying to live past 21.
10. Not become an alcoholic
Alcoholism is a serious disorder that many people have been victims of, many have surpassed it because of their faith, many have yet to recover from it. Let's hope I don't fall victim to it. (For my family reading this, it is a joke, I will NOT be an alcoholic)
11. Go to Las Vegas
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas
12. Go to Japan
I'm sure people that know me know how much I loved going to Japan and this comes as no surprise. The people, the culture, everything is amazing. It is a possibility that I will teach English there for 1 year. But Japan is not the only country I will travel to, as cliche as it sounds, I want to travel the world.
13. Sky Diving
I've wanted to do this since I learned what sky diving is. Just hope the parachutes open, I do want to live past 21.
14. Make relationships
This is very important to me, all these places I will go, I want to build relationships, meet people that I may know for the rest of my life and strengthen the relationships I currently have. After all, what fun would be to do all this in my list with no real friends?
15. Read more
I definitely enjoy reading fictional stories, however, I want to open my mind to what is out there. To the possibilities that I didn't know existed, so I want to read more than just stories, I want to read things that will contribute to my knowledge of my surrounding.
16. Play piano more often
I started playing piano about 1 year ago, I used to practice at least 5 days a week 1 hour a day. It's been a while since I played piano and I miss the feeling of pressing a key and hearing the beautiful sound it makes.
17. Do Martial Arts
Also haven't done martial arts for a couple of months, whenever not in school I will try to do martial arts again, best way to get into shape; highly recommended.
18. Clean out my computer
Not for the reasons you're thinking.
19. Graduate College
Elms College class of 2017 make some noise!!!
20. Appreciate everyday of life
There is so much in this world to be grateful for, I am grateful to have reached 21 years old. Such a small number when it comes to age, but there are many people in the world that never reach this age. Appreciate the people around you, the things around and most importantly appreciate yourself. YOU reading this, imagine all the possible ways your life can turn out from this moment on. Now imagine which turn out you like the most? Now imagine what you need to do to have that turn of events you just imagined and do it.
21. Become wiser
Every single thing I mentioned in this list can and will help me get an understanding of the world and people that will help me become wiser. Yes everything, including video games; so now you're probably thinking "how is video games going to make Stefan wiser?" well, I have no idea.
