2015 was filled with events. Some events were exciting, although there were just as many that were horrifying. While not every event could make the list, here's 2015 in review for you.
January
The College Football Championship took place on January 12. Ohio State beat Oregon 42-20.
February
The Patriots defeat the Seahawks 28-24 on February 1 in the Super Bowl. Katy Perry performed at halftime.
Marijuana becomes legal in Alaska on February 24 and in Washington D.C. on February 26.
March
On March 24, a German airplane crashes in the Swiss Alps while flying from Barcelona to Dusseldorf. All 150 people on board were killed. The reports claim that the copilot, who had depression, crashed the plane after locking the pilot out.
April
On April 25, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal killing more than 8,000 and injuring 17,866. Two weeks later on May 12, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit the country again.
On April 24, Bruce Jenner comes out stating his sex change in an interview with Diane Sawyer.
May
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte, on May 2.
On May 2, "The Fight of the Century" takes place. Floyd Mayweather wins the fight against Manny Pacquiao, remaining undefeated.
June
The Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup on June 15, defeating the Lightning in six games.
On June 26, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage, making it legal in all 50 states.
July
On July 23, John Houser shot 11 people in a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana. Two people were killed and nine wounded.
The Boy Scouts of America end their ban on gay members on July 27.
August
Republicans held the first Presidential Debate on August 6 in Cleveland, Ohio. The debate included Scott Walker, Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and John Katich.
On August 9, the city of Ferguson declared a state of emergency due to gunfire exchange between police and civilians.
On September 13, Novak Djokovic defeats Roger Federer for the men's singles title at the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament. Flavia Pennetta wins the women's title, defeating fellow Italian Roberta Vinci.
Pope Francis began his first visit to the US on September 22.
October
A gunman kills nine and injures seven at a community college in Oregon on October 1 before killing himself.
Democrats held their first Presidential Debate on October 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The debate included Hillary Rodham Clinton, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, former Virginia Senator Jim Webb, former Senator and Governor of Rhode Island Lincoln Chafee, and former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley.
Paul Ryan became the 54th Speaker of the House on October 29. He replaced John Boehner who retired.
November
The Royals won their first World Series in 30 years on November 1.
On November 13, six attacks spread throughout the city of Paris were carried out by ISIS suicide bombers killing 130 people and wounding hundreds.
December
Steve Harvey accidentally crowns the wrong Miss Universe on December 20.
