Every day when we wake up we can make a decision on how we want to face the day. We can decide whether or not we want to be social and kind to others. We decide what to wear and how to present ourselves to the outside world. While all of this is true, I think we should all start making decisions that would make this Earth a happier place to live. Here is a list of 18 acts, which I believe if every person performed daily, would make this world a better place for all.
1. Offer words of encouragement to one another.
Believing in others helps them believe in themselves and if everyone believed in himself or herself individually and then entirely this world could hit its highest potential.
2. Laugh.
There is no greater happiness than a full blown belly laugh.
3. Go for a walk.
Exercise is important and it allows the mind body and soul to all intermingle and create peace.
4. Call a friend or family member just to talk and keep in touch.
We often take people for granted knowing they'll always be there. Show them they're appreciated and actively still be there for them. When you tell people to keep in touch, actually do it. Do not sit around waiting for when you need them for something.
5. Listen to a new song.
Music is essential in the world we live in. Often time’s people get stuck in the same music that plays on the radio every day. Expand your horizons and find a new song every day, you'll be amazed by what you'll discover.
6. Make a memory.
We only get one go around in regards to this beautiful life, make the most of it. Make each day worthwhile and make memories to match all the greatest days.
7. Sing in the shower.
Not only does this relieve stress but everybody always sounds 100% better when they sing in the shower -- the acoustics are just unreal. Give it a whirl. It's also very important because everyone should shower, no excuses.
8. Do something spontaneous.
Stop waiting for opportunities to fall in your lap, go on an adventure. Create opportunities.
9. Make somebody smile.
If you make somebody else smile then it’s going to be easier for them to pass that a long. If everyone is happy and smiling then the world would genuinely be a better place.
10. Appreciate yourself.
Don't forget that you're important too. Everyone has a place and everyone should appreciate themselves and this place.
11. Make conversation with a stranger.
We could learn so much from one another if we just stopped and listened every once in a while.
12. Take a deep breath.
This allows for thorough relaxation. It reminds us we are simply human, we have control over ourselves only and we need to stop stressing out over things we cannot control.
13. Preform at least one random act of kindness.
If everyone preformed at least one random act of kindness a day that is over 300 million acts of kindness preformed in the U.S. alone. How wonderful does that sound? All it takes is holding a door or paying it forward for a simple meal and we would all have a better expectation of people and this planet.
14. Be judgement free.
If we lived in a world where nobody judged, people would actually feel comfortable being themselves. We edit how we act simply to fit the standards of society when in all reality this conformity takes away from individuality. Stop judging everyone, let people be themselves.
15. Go to bed happy.
Why why why ever go to bed angry or upset? That is just asking for stress dreams and sleepless nights. Whether it's reading the first chapter of your favorite book or scrolling through YouTube watching panda videos put a smile on your face before you let your head hit the pillow, I promise it will make for a better and brighter tomorrow.
16. Agree to disagree.
If everyone stopped trying to be right all the time we could stop so many extra and unnecessary problems. While yes, some people are more stubborn then others including myself, we all need to learn the value behind agreeing to finally disagree and moving forward. Life is about perspective and understanding it is okay for somebody to hold a different perspective.
17. Stay informed.
If we all knew what was going on in our world today we would all have a better understanding of what the world needs from us as individuals. Reading the newspaper and watching all different types of news stations can allow us to gain perspective on human life around us and how valuable that life is to creating a universe that acts and functions as a whole, not a bunch of different parts.
18. Tell all the people you love that you love them.
As cliché as it sounds, not everyone gets a tomorrow. We never know when our last day will be nor do we know when the last day of our loved ones will occur. Show people you care, don't leave them guessing. Lay it all out there because at the end of the day, we only have one go around and we should always be working our hardest to give everyone the best go around they can get, too.
