Dating can be hard in today’s world. Even with apps like Tinder and Happn, finding someone you really connect with is easier said than done. But in any case, should you be lucky enough to land that first date, here are a few things to avoid.
1. Being late.
If you are going to be late, then you better give your date a heads-up.2. Being on your phone the whole time.
Now that's just rude. Pay attention to the person sitting there with you.3. Being dressed inappropriately.
Figure out the feel of the place you're going before you pick out an outfit.4. Hitting on the waiter/waitress.
Clearly you're not that interested in the person you're with if you decide to do this.
5. Being rude to the waiter/waitress.
The way you treat the wait staff (or anyone else) says a lot about your character, which your date will definitely notice.
6. Talking only about yourself.
This is the time to learn about your potential partner. Ask them a few things.7. Not talking at all.
The above doesn't mean they don't want to get to know you. Open up a little bit (just steer clear of TMI territory).8. Lacking confidence.
Don't be down about yourself. Your date can smell fear.9. Mentioning your ex(es).
This might be a sign that you're not completely over the ex in question.
10. Mentioning marriage or kids.
Too soon.11. Bringing your parent(s).
If you're old enough to date, you're old enough to go out without your parents. Don't bring them.
12. Bringing anyone else for that matter.
A date is meant for two people. None of them should be your friend, sibling, etc.
13. Not eating anything even though you're at a restaurant.
That's just weird.14. Eating off your date's plate.
Also rude. Unless they offer, stick to your own food and order whatever they got next time you're there.15. Expecting your date to pay the bill.
Not saying that you necessarily have to, but at least offer to split it.
16. Getting drunk.
Do you want the date to end badly? Because that is how you end the date badly.17. Not saying 'thank you.'
Don't overload them with texts and calls - just a simple "Thanks, I had a good time!" will suffice.
