Dear Mom,

First of all, I want to say I love you, and happy Valentine’s Day. I know that I do not say “I love you” enough, and I never want you to think that my love for you has changed over the years of me growing up. You have been there for me whenever I needed you through all the tears, skinned knees, and heartbreaks, I knew could always undoubtedly come to you. I also want to thank you for bringing me into this world. I know it was not easy raising me, and there were good days and bad days, but no matter what happened your love has never faded. I know that as old as I become, I will forever be your baby, and you will forever be my mentor. For all you have done, I would like you to be my Valentine, not just for this Valentine’s Day, but for all. Even though someone else may steal my heart, there will forever be a special place for you in my heart. Once again, happy Valentine’s Day Mom, and thank you for all the unconditional love and support you have given me through all the years and the years to come. You will forever be my best friend.

Love,

Your Child

New Year's. February? Valentine's and Single Awareness Day. May? Existential dread during finals. But for me, March has always been my favorite month of the year, and for good reason.
