16 Things To Change In 2016

1. Painted Eyebrows

Big sculpted eyebrows such as Victoria Secret model Cara Delevingne's have been popular this past year. Yet there is a big difference between having them and not, and if you don't naturally then do yourself a favor – don't paint some on. There is nothing wrong with fixing them up and keeping them "fierce," but making some false looks nothing but fake. People can tell the difference so let's turn it down a notch.

2. That's So Basic

Honestly, who came up with this? I once had a guy ask me what my favorite color was and then in response to my answer he said, "Oh, that is so basic!" Alright...is that supposed to be an insult? It's a term that is overused and simply does not make much sense so throw it away, and come up with something better for the new year.

3. Happy Holidays and Festive Cup Complaining

People become so touchy around the holidays. If one of your biggest worries is how the cup looks that Starbucks comes out with during the season then I applaud you. Go put your passionate arguing skills into something that matters because clearly you don't see the world how it is right now.

4. The Chameleon Dress

Blue and black or white and gold is now a thing of the past. Let it stay that way. I have to admit this was pretty awesome for about two minutes before you realize there is some part of science behind it that ruins the magic altogether.

5. Whipped Mayonnaise

The song "Watch Me" by Silento was pretty entertaining, especially for those who misheard the lyrics and thought it was saying "Now watch me whip, now watch me mayonnaise." Now it is nothing but whipped and annoying.

6. Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge

Just hearing what this is sounds like a bad idea but actually putting a shot glass to your lips and sucking until your lips blow up like a puffer fish is plain stupid. Just like the eyebrows, bigger doesn't necessarily mean better, so this year show off what you do have.

7. Netflix and Chill

It is one thing to actually hang out and watch Netflix with someone. Being a college student myself, Netflix is a piece of heaven when I go through the "watch eight episodes at one time" phase. When the double meaning came along however, things definitely turn awkward if someone expects sex and the other person just wanted to watch some "Friends."

8. The Condom Challenge

Only American kids would think it to be a good idea to take a condom and fill it up like a water balloon and throw it over a friends head. It may look funny, but it is a dangerous as it seems.

9. White Girls and Starbucks

This year can we focus on less offensive jokes? This is nothing but a stereotype, and one that is not even that amusing. If you like Starbucks then go get yourself your Starbucks, and I myself will happily go drink my Dunkin' Donuts.

10. Situation Single Pringle

I understand that being single sucks especially when all your friends seem to be in a relationship. One thing I hope that will be left behind in 2015 is all the single people that do nothing but announce their relationship status to the world. When you are saying you are looking for someone for that New Years kiss or can't believe how ugly you are to not have someone makes you look nothing but desperate. Keep it classy and have more confidence in yourself.

11. Vicious Vaping

Luckily smoking has become more and more unattractive, but for those who think your vaping looks any better, you are mistaken. Just because it isnt smoking, all of you vapers think it is OK and justified to vape indoors and with othersm but it is nothing but rude and unpleasing.

12. Ba-Bye Bae

This year calls for something different other than calling your honey-bunny "Bae." This was the sort of thing that was cute for about a week and just like everything else viral, it became overused and annoying.

13. Woman of the Year

It has been all over the news... too much. Caitlyn Jenner in all her glory. I will respect her choices, just as I do with any human being, but it is time to move on. 2016 is a time for new things so let's bring the focus onto something else.

14. What are Those? History

2015 was a year that brought all sorts of popular sayings. "What are dose" is nothing but "deez nuts" and "Yas." I'm going there because "I didn't get no sleep 'cause of y'all, y'all not gonna sleep 'cause of me!" Bring some new material this year.

15. Hello and Goodbye

Adele's "Hello" definitely got caught in every college student's head these past few months whether they wanted it to or not. I can't even begin to say how many times has someone called me to sing "Hello...it's me." Well you have done nothing but make me want to hang up so goodbye.

16. Attitude

Last, and most importantly, the world's attitude needs to change. The past year, the majority of the youth's focus has been on nonsense and minor materialistic things barely worth complaining about. 2016 is sure to bring it's challenges, so let everyone focus on more important matters.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
