You've heard that it resembles a jail in middle of no where next to a giant field with horses to go on the side. But if you're really from Oswego East, you know that the school is not at all what it seems. Here are some signs that show you're truly from Oswego East.

1. You’re aware of the principal changing situation

Since 2013, OE has changed principals 4 times. Principals: Dr. Jeff Craig (2008-2013), Dr. Louis Lee (2013-2014), Dr. Todd Martens (2014), Craig Watson (2015), Dr. Scott Savage (2015-2016).

2. Muffin Monday!!!

Our Mondays aren't quite as bleak because we have our favorite, $1, giant, delicious muffin to look forward to. The hype is real.

3. Diversity

I don’t know the statistics, but I’ve always heard that OE was a pretty diverse school and everyone is actually pretty nice. Not to mention that OE now has a Black Student Association, Indian Student Association, Muslim Student Association, Lambs Among Wolves, LULAC and MOSAIC.

4. Your refer to the cafeteria as "The Commons"

The infamous Cinderella stairs are pretty much ready to be used in the upcoming "High School Musical 4."

5. You knew Reggie at one point

“Aye young man!” was a popular phrase that you heard walking through the hallways. This phrase was equivalent to getting pulled over by the cops.

6. Dean’s Assistants

DAs everywhere! Even though there are DAs constantly roaming the hallways, it doesn’t quite faze us because our relationship’s pretty chill.

7. WolfPack News ---Wolves Rock!

Whether you saw it during the first five minutes of second period or during you guided study, WolfPack news was once something that we all looked forward to. Over the years, I saw the hype for the news decrease and maybe it’s because I was a stupid, overly excited freshman at one point or teachers just stopped showing it to their students.

8. WolfPack

Our Wolfpack has evolved and natural selection has chosen in our favor as we are known as one of the greatest school spirit clubs around town.

9. There are so many wings!

Ever since the expansion of the school, we’ve expanded to the original wings A, B, C, D, E, F, G, with an additional three wings H, J, K…..L,M,N,O,P…JK.

10. The F Wing

Speaking of wings, you're well aware that the F wings are where all the traffic jams occur. You find yourself on a mission to navigate yourself through this hallway.

11. ABCD Lunch or Guided Study

Whether you had ABCD lunch or have Guided Study, you never get more than 30 minutes to eat lunch. Before you could even finish eating your greasy pizza you hear “LET’S GO!” X2.

12. Excellence, Academics, SPIRIT, Tradition

You probably know that it’s not just Oswego East anymore; it’s Oswego E.A.S.T. We now stand for something greater. You also know it’s not really about the academics because we highly emphasize on school spirit which notably dominates the ambiance.

13. Music in the Hallways

With the change from the block scheduling to flex schedule, and the expansion of the school, the seven minute passing period was changed to six minutes. To help us get to class on time faster, you’d get five minutes of the same old music and then it would be cut off at the last minute as you are reminded you now need to run for class.

14. So Many Clubs!

You name it! We’ve got Anime Club, Cosmetology Club, Hate Free @ OE, Rock Climbing and even Shredd Club. With over 60 clubs, you can always find a place that fits you!

15. You've heard the story of the ghost girl in the PAC.

From a very trusted source, I've heard that the ghost girl is indeed there and real.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
