1. You are so ready to enjoy your summer…
2. …but all of your friends are so ready to go back to school.
While you were in class, they’ve been working grueling hours at summer jobs. Getting back into classrooms and lecture halls almost sounds like fun.
3. You're broke.
Unlike your friends, your may not have had enough hours in the day to fit in a summer job with your courses. And if you did, you couldn't work as many hours as you may have wanted. *Sigh*. Your dreams of a new fall wardrobe are destroyed as you can barely pay for your cherry water ice.
4. You feel pressured to squeeze lots of fun things into a short time span.
Lunch dates, beach days, and movie nights start filing the pages of your planner. Suddenly you wonder if you will actually have time to relax.
5. You get annoyed when friend turn down invitations to these aforementioned plans.
They've already had plenty of wicked sunburns and eaten their fair share of funnel cakes on the boardwalk. They’re looking forward to pumpkin patches and football games, and your summertime state of mind is SOO last season.
6. At least you finally have the option of sleeping in...
Because even though you’ve survived 8:30 classes Monday through Friday during the academic year, making it to your summer class at the same time was TORTURE.
5. ...but your body is so used to getting up at the crack of dawn that this is a complete impossibility.
The next time you'll be ready to snooze will be bright and early on syllabus week.
6. You can't believe you have to be back in a class in less than a month...
The thought makes you shudder. Weren't you just there?

7. ...so you make excuses and put off all of your necessary back to school shopping and organizing to the last minute.
"No, Mom. I don't have time to pack up my closet. Yes, I really need to lay in my bed and do nothing. That's what summer is for! "
8. When you do decide to finally get your stuff together, you immediately regret your procrastination.
HOW DARE OFFICE MAX BE OUT OF YOUR FAVORITE BRAND OF HIGHLIGHTERS! If only you had started looking for them two weeks ago.

9. You catch yourself staring at your calendar in disbelief.
Surely it's not August already. Weren't you watching fireworks a week ago?
10. Your friends and family may not take your summer course experience seriously.
Yes, each course only lasted five weeks. But it was still a semester's worth of homework, exams, lectures, and maybe labs! So, no, it was not taking the easy way out. If anything, it may have been more intense than it would be during the semester.
11. You wonder if it was worth it.
Sure, you earned some credits. But you may have missed out on valuable shadowing experiences and internships that you otherwise would have taken advantage of had you not been in class. Second guessing yourself can be exhausting.
12. You dread talking about your uneventful summer when you're back on campus.
"Oh, you studied abroad and worked in a lab finding a cure for cancer? That's cool. I spent some time learning about magnetism, which... Oh no! Come back! I could talk about electric forces, if you think that would be more interesting!"
13. You cringe at the thought of buying more textbooks.
Your bank account has barely recovered from the hefty loss caused by your summer course materials. You're now hoping a rich family will take pity and adopt you.
14. You've barely made a dent in your summer bucket list.
How could you have read all of those books when you were crunching numbers or working on papers every night? You might as well forget about all of your crafting plans while you're at it.
15. You fear you are too burnt out to succeed in the fall semester.
Will you be able to find the motivation to craft beautifully worded essays and make stack after stack of flashcards? You actually pray you will be bored with summer in about three weeks time and will feel ready to tackle your full course load.
At least there's always next year! Who knows. Maybe your so-called dream internship will be a living nightmare and you will find yourself longing for your early morning commutes to class.
