Okay friends, now that we've been in school for about a week, it's time to talk about our "favorite" thing about college....dorm showers!!!! Sike. More like our least favorite thing. Returning back to the dorms, or coming into them for the first time, can give you mixed feelings.

Like, where is my luxury bathtub and my fancy bath-bombs!?!? The sad reality is you won't be seeing those for at least the next few weeks; instead, you are left to ponder how someone every thought it was a good idea to build a shower the size of a shoe box.

1. Wow, this is tiny!

It's like trying to fit a square into a circle, it's not going to happen!

2. I need some type of shoes before I ever walk into this bathroom.

Showers shoes, where ya at? You are about to become my new best friends for the next nine months.

3. How do girls shave in here? Should I balance my leg on the wall or nah?

I seriously don't know what to do to ensure that I won't fall or cut myself. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

4. My RA warned us to never have sex in the showers, but I don't even see how that is possible!

First of all, ew. Second of all, you have a room, people. Use it!

5. Why don't these shower stalls have doors?

Curtains are cool at home, where I know who might walk in. But at school, you don't know who's walking through!

6. Two showers for 12-13 girls, that's not possible!

Whoever thought of putting only two stalls has got me really messed up.

7. Girls definitely shower in here, there's like a million bobby pins!

If you ever need a bobby pin, be sure to check the shower.

8. Wow, that's a lot of hair in the drain.

It's bound to happen with so many girls sharing the same showers.

9. How often are these really cleaned?

They say twice a week but I don't believe it.

10. Should I really go to class tomorrow?

This one of those mid shower thoughts that hit you and hit you hard.

11. Should I eat, nap or do homework? All of these are quality questions but which one do I choose?

It's fair to say that Christina Yang had the right idea.

12. I told my roommate I would take a five-minute shower. It's been 30...

I wonder if she thinks that I'm like dead or something.

13. I hope I don't slip and die. It'd be so awkward if people found me naked.

This is the worst thing that could ever happen! Praying that it doesn't happen to any of you.

I know that these aren't all the thoughts that you have, but these are just some of the most common. I think that after being in the dorm showers we can all come to the same conclusion...we need to go home!! Home is where the heart is and your mom's home cooking. Also, the place where you don't have to wear shower shoes and struggle to shave.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
