12 Ways To Survive Wednesdays

Generally, people think that Mondays are the worst day of the week. It's the day after the weekend, and farthest from Friday. There are memes, tweets, and blogs dedicated to the terribleness that is Monday. While Monday can be awful, Wednesdays are actually worse.

Wednesdays are frequently called "hump day" due to it being in the middle of the week. By the time Wednesday rolls around, you are exhausted and struggling, but you still have two more days until the weekend. Monday brings the start of a new week, it's fresh and has unlimited potential. Wednesday either is the middle of a bad week, which means you want the weekend, or it's the middle of a good week, which means you want the weekend.

Here are 11 ways to survive the terrible Wednesdays:

1. Take a nap. Naps are the best way to refresh your brain and body for the rest of the week. It provides energy that will be needed to make it to Friday.

2. Have you heard of Wine Wednesday? Grab a $5 bottle of wine and chug, chug, chug. Chugging a cheap bottle of wine is a good way to make the week go by faster.

3. Take a sick day on Thursday. Chugging all that wine might leave you with the wine flu (AKA a massive hangover). Call in sick, email your professors or just plain skip in order to make the week go by faster.

4. Retail therapy. Nothing makes me feel better than buying something. Whether it's clothes, new shoes or just a pair of sunglasses.

5. Get a mani/pedi/massage. A stranger scrubbing your feet is oddly an amazing feeling.

6. Pet a puppy. You can't resist smiling while petting a a puppy or even looking at its adorable face.

7. Use dry shampoo and skip the shower. It gives you that extra boost of confidence needed during the middle of the week, and it saves you time.

8. Go for a run. Hear me out. While exercising may seem like it would make a Wednesday worse, it actually gives you a burst of energy that can help you make it to Friday.

9. Watch a reality TV show. Celebrities with major problems make you feel better about your 20 page paper.

10. Make a playlist that makes you excited for the weekend. Pumping up songs like "Formation" by Beyonce will make you forget it's Wednesday.

11. Treat yo self to some venti sized Starbucks to help you make it through the day.

Remember that your track record for getting through rough Wednesdays is 100 percent so far. Just stick it out and use these tips to survive hump day.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
