Sometimes life just comes and throws a million things at you, or life can just be life. When anxiety sets in, it’s hard to focus and keep going but here are some ways to help.

1. Stop what you are doing and just take a few minutes to regain yourself.

Then come up with a game plan to deal with the issue at hand.

2. Talk with some friends or family and see if they can just lend an ear, potentially offering some advice.

3. Do something you love.

Whether that be listen to music, eat your favorite snack, or see a movie. Do something for you to help calm yourself.

4. Exercise.

Sometimes working out can help us to alleviate our anxiety by turning your emotion into movement.

5. Get a full night’s sleep.

Being well rested can help us deal with our emotions better compared to lack of sleep, which can hype up our emotions.

6. Breathe.

On tumblr and Facebook there are useful calming animations that remind us to take deep breathes and will help you take a proper deep breath. If you aren’t near a computer try breathing in for 4 counts, holding it for 7 and exhaling for 8.

7. Go to a local shelter and play with some pets.

Not only is it calming for you but it also is a great way of giving these animals some much needed attention.

8. Remember to breathe.

Whatever it is, just remind yourself that you are strong and can get through whatever situation is causing you anxiety.

9. Get a journal and write down your feelings.

Perhaps get a small journal so that whenever you feel anxiety you can write down your feelings instead of keeping them inside.

10. Take a hot bath or warm shower to just relax your body.

Maybe throw in a bath bomb or some incense to help relax you so that you can ease your mind.

11. Read your favorite book.

So what if you read it 5 times already. That’s why it’s your favorite right? Getting lost in a good book can really help to relax you and ease your anxiety.

12. Take deep breaths.

I can’t stress this enough. If you feel like the anxiety is bubbling inside you, deep breaths can calm you and help you get back into focus and alleviate your anxiety. It will help you think clearly.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
