It's finally Thanksgiving week! This means that all of us college kids are heading home to that meal of wonderful food known as Thanksgiving dinner. That is probably the number one thing we're all thankful for on Thanksgiving day, but there are lots of other things that get college kids feeling super grateful. We aren't super hard to please. We're poor, hungry, and sleepy 99% of the time, so anything that helps us out of those ruts is quite appreciated. If you want a little insight into what all college students are really and truly thankful for during Thanksgiving (but also year-round), here's a list of a few things that sum it up.
1. Free food.
Like I said, that Thanksgiving dinner is at the top of the list of things we're thankful for, but really just any form of free food is a beautiful sight. If it's not pizza, ramen, or dining hall food--even better.
2. Our own bed.
There's just something about settling into your own bed, with no alarms set, that is the happiest thing ever.
3. Cancelled classes.
We know we're here to learn and all, but there is no greater surge of joy than that that comes from an email with the subject line, "Class Cancelled."
4. Dogs.
Wanna be the cool kid in college? Have your dog on campus. I assure you that the masses with flock to you to pet your puppy and just watch it. In a world full of college students, an occasional dog is like a fresh breath of air.
5. T-shirts.
There's no such thing as too many t-shirts. And there's certainly no such thing as too many free t-shirts.
6. Headphones.
7. College sports.
Nothing is better than college basketball, but college sports in general are just the best. From hockey to soccer to football to gymnastics--just fun stuff.
8. Our friends.
Cliche, we know, but seriously, college without friends wouldn't be college.
9. Naps.
We're always game for a nap. Napping in the library? Great. Napping in the Fine Arts building? Great. Napping on the sidewalk? Absolutely will not be judging you.
10. Pleasant weather.
11. Netflix.
Because who doesn't need homework break that consists of a few episodes of The Office every now and then, right?
