1. Stay Active
I know that it's definitely easier to stay physically active in the warmer months, when you actually want to spend time outdoors, but maintaining healthy habits and physical activity is equally important in the winter. Join a gym or purchase some exercise equipment so that you can get your heart rate up while indoors. Whatever works best for you is fine, as long as you're getting some exercise in. It will help to relieve stress which will help you be more focused and productive.
2. Set Goals
Don't trick yourself into thinking that your big goals and aspirations all need to be set by the first day of January. Regularly setting goals and objectives is a great way to keep yourself motivated and focused on the things that you want to get done. Plus, you'll feel acccomplished when you manage to check one of those goals off your list. Increasing your productivity and ambition even more. It's a definte win-win!
3. Eat Healthy
Focusing on good nutrition is important any time of year, but it's especially crucial in the winter months when you're already feeling sluggish and lethargic. Piling fried and greasy foods on top of your lack of motivation will only make things worse. Instead of filling up with sugars and carbohydrates, remember to incorporate plenty of protein, fruits, and vegetables. Keeping an eye on your diet will improve your overall health, as well as your energy level.
4. Catch Up On Your Reading List
Been dying to read James Patterson's new book? Have to catch up on your subscription of "Cosmo"? Now's the time! Winter break is an awesome opportunity to read up on all the things you've been missing, whether academic or just for fun!

6. Volunteer
Use that extra free time for good volunteering locally this break. Help out at your local food pantry, stop by the humane society, or do a little baking for charity, you won't regret it!
7. Meet Up With Old Friends
While a night of Netflix may be tempting, it's important to keep up with your social life when you're home. Instead of hibernating all winter, try to get our and meet up with your hometown friends!
8. Reward Yourself
It's important to focus on the positives and implement a reward system for your hard work. Maybe you want to plan a vacation that you can mark on the calendar and plan for. Perhaps you want to treat yourself to a nice dinner out with your friends. Whatever you choose to do is up to you. It gives you something to look forward to.
9. Polish Your Spring Semester Schedule
You've probably enrolled in spring semester courses by this point, but now's the time to tweak your class schedule to your liking.
10. Attend Events
Stay mentally stimulated by attending concerts, plays, or art exhibits. Do your Christmas shopping at antique stores or auctions. Take a friend or love interest out dancing, and of course, celebrate the New Year!
11. Don't Forget To Relax
It is a break after all, so it's important to set aside time to rest and recover between any fun activities you might do. By staying productive until next semester, you'll enjoy your break to the fullest and come back to school well prepared.
