Most can agree that the best part about college is having a new sense of independence. You can eat dinner whenever you want, no more curfews, and you definitely don’t have anyone telling you to do your homework while you Netflix binge (sorry mom). But, that’s just the beginning. There are just a few more things that you find out throughout your college journey.
1. Pizza suddenly becomes the single greatest thing to exist. Especially at two in the morning with your friends.
2. Getting sick at college feels like it’s the end of the world. You just want your mom.
3. You learn how to master long distance relationships with your best friends from home. Even if you don’t talk for weeks, you know that nothing has changed.
4. If you didn’t already learn at some point in your life, procrastination is the worst way to go about getting any homework or studying done. But you still do it, and you will still be up at 3am cramming for a test asking yourself, “why didn’t I do this earlier?” while chugging a red bull.
5. Ah, and speaking of procrastination, you will do just about anything before it’s time to endure the mountain of assignments. Cleaning your room, working out or even color coordinating your closet sounds so much better.
6. Caffeine becomes your lifeline. Whether it’s a grande soy latte from Starbucks or a red bull, it is an essential. Can’t we just get an IV of this sh!t to help us out?
7. You adapt to one wacky sleep schedule. Depending on what time class starts, some days you might be up before the sun, and others your first meal of the day is lunch.
8. Going home for weekend visits or long breaks seems like vacation. You know mom and dad are going to pamper you with your favorite food.
