After graduating from high school, graduates begin to think about all of the things they wished they would have thanked their favorite high school teachers for. When in high school it is hard to realize that some of your best memories are being made. High school teachers have a very difficult job. They are the last teachers we will have before we go off to college in hopes of furthering our education. We have so many things to thank them for but some things are more important than others.

1. Thank them for forcing you to be the best that you could be.

Your high school teachers always wanted the best for you even if you didn't always care what you got on "that" test.

2. Thank them for not asking about the bags under your eyes and the horrible outfit choices during the last couple of weeks of senior year.

It is stressful and exhausting but they allows treated everyone the same.

3. Thank them for taking work even when it was two months late.

In high school a five point assignment seemed like it could make or break your grade. When the end of the semester came around, everyone turned in assignments from months before. No one will have that luxury when they get to college.

4. Thank them for caring about you and your work.

High school teachers have a hard job but most of them show up to work with a smile on their face every single day. No matter what.

5. Thank them for allowing you to be 10 minutes late to class without marking you tardy or taking away parts of your grade.

In college, I am assuming professors will not be this lenient.

6. Thank them for pretending not to notice when you left the last hour of the day 10 minutes early.

Avoiding the disaster of the parking lot was much more important than the last 10 minutes anyways, right?

7. Thank them for taking the time to give us feedback even if we didn't seem to care.

High school teachers were the last stop before college and their feedback had the opportunity to change the way we went through college.

8. Thank them for knowing your name.

From what I hear, college professors aren't that great at learning names.

9. Thank them for pretending not to notice you playing on your phone under your desk.

The pair of shoes that you just absolutely had to buy online during English class? Yeah, your teacher knew what you were doing.

10. Thank them for teaching us to be excited to learn.

They shaped us into the learners we are today and taught us to love things we never thought we could.

11. Thank them for going above and beyond every single day.

It can not be easy to be a high school teacher but most teachers strive to be their best and then more.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
