Milestones mark significant change in development; the evolutions of oneself.
To all of my fellow independent ladies out there, let's make 2016 our year! Here are some awesome ideas to give you a push to be your best you this upcoming year!
1. Seek out ways to help those in need. Let's be a little less selfish, and help give back to our community! Not only will you feel a sense of pride & fulfillment, you will meet some awesome people along the way!
2. Become more self aware. Take a second to think about what is going on around you, and how you can react to each situation in the best way possible. Sometimes in our fast paced lives, we are trying to get things done, rather then noticing what we are actually doing.
3. Be grateful. That is such a broad statement, but stop and be grateful for the smallest things possible; the ones you take for granted. That morning cup of coffee from Starbucks, that call from your mom who's 300 miles away to wish you luck on your presentation at work, or even that fact that you can walk on your own two feet. Remember that some people don't have the opportunities that we do, so appreciate them.
4. Start a journal. Reflect on each week and sort out your feeling. It will aid in the process of becoming self aware, and help solve some little problems that you didn't even know you had. And at the end of the year, you can see how far you've come!
5. Find a new hobby. Try that new yoga class you've been planning to try. You'd be surprised what something outside of work can do for your social and mental health!
6. Clean out your old stuff. Clutter everywhere makes the mind spin. Destress by making your place a more simple, and easy-going space.
7. Take time for friends. I know you love your new boo, or you throw yourself into work, but friends are what keep us sane. Don't have friends to have them, have one or two genuine friends that you know you can always count on. Quality over quantity people!
8. Learn to budget. Live within your means. Simple living does not mean boring. Instead try to save up and splurge on one good thing, rather then a bunch of "ok" things. You will appreciate it's value more, and will never have shoppers remorse!
9. Make a schedule. It helps keep life organized, and gives you that bit of extra free time you need!
10. Find fulfillment in what is. Have goals for what you want, but also make it a point to live in the moment, and appreciate what is here now. Make the best of every situation, because you may not know what will happen tomorrow.
11. Meditate. Take a few minutes out of the day to get lost in your mind. You will learn how to make one with your mind and body, and carry less stress throughout your day.
