I know I'm not the only one that goes through old pictures and thinks "What the hell was I thinking?!" Whether it was the outfit of choice, or gesture made in the picture I can't help but be ashamed that I ever thought that was cool. So here it is and I'm sure you can agree, 10 trends that you are embarrassed you participated in as a kid:

1. Popcorn Shirts

First of all who even thought of these? The sad thing is I remember I had to have one, and don't worry if you never got to experience popcorn shirts they still sell them at Rite-Aid.

2. No-Tie Curly Shoelaces

These were convenient for kids that didn't know how to tie their shoes but I'm pretty sure I wore them up until the 5th grade. Mine were even glow in the dark...

3. Heely's

Okay, I admit Heely's were pretty cool. I never owned a pair, but I remember I was so jealous of my friends when they had them.

4. Butterfly Clips

Butterfly clips were okay as long as you didn't overuse them like me. For some reason it was like I couldn't just wear one, I had to have at least ten in my hair.

5. Sequin Purses

At 10 years old I didn't even need to carry a purse but I remember having to get one of these!

6. Bobby Jack Shirts

I have no idea what it was about these shirts but my friends and I all had them, and of course we would plan a day to all wear them and match.

7. The "Peace Sign" pose

I'm pretty sure that if you found my Myspace every picture I posted was of me holding up peace signs.

8. Jelly Bracelets

Just like the butterfly clips jelly bracelets were another thing that I wore an excess amount of.

9. Crimped Hair

I'm so glad that I finally came to the conclusion that I cannot pull off crimped hair. My best friend and I used to braid our hair into tiny little braids every night just to look like Lizzie McGuire.

10. Gaucho's

Although they were comfy, Gaucho's were definitely a trend that I am ashamed I took part in.

Isn't it funny how as a kid we all thought we had to have popcorn shirts and Heely's to be cool and now looking back we laugh at how stupid we actually looked?! Even though trends seem to make comebacks these 10 are all things I would be happy never seeing again!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
