In college, everyone is busy and has a lot going on. We all have different classes and other things happening in life. However, if you have a friend who is a college athlete, chances are you’ve said one of these things to them and either got a serious eye roll or you got some serious attitude.

Things to never say to a college athlete, especially while they are in season:

1. “I’m so busy…”

Please tell me how busy you are. Try adding in away-game travel time, games, practices, and the occasional social life into your so busy schedule.

2. “Wow, I’m really sore from my work out…”

Oh yeah, you’re sore from your work out, try running the beep test. Every week. Please go for it! (I dare you.) After, go out to the field and train for the upcoming game. Why yes, you will have practice the next day and the day after that. #nodaysoff

3. “School is about education, not sports.”

Yeah maybe, but if it weren’t for this sport I wouldn’t be able to learn here.

4. “Why are you on always on a diet?”

I’m not on a diet. Trust me, I want that cookie more than you do, but I would rather not taste it again later today when we have to run.

5. “Why is everything a competition with you?”

I can’t help it, it’s just who I am. #winning

6. “Oh, you actually got dressed for class today?”

Yes, yes I did.. probably because all of my running shorts and leggings are dirty. Please stop pointing it out. This is already painful enough, thanks.

7. “I’m so tired.”

Oh yeah, you’re tired? Try being up at 6 am for running, going to a full day of class, then practice, and then homework. Aka no sleep ever. Please tell me why you are so tired.

8. “Wow, you have really bad tan lines.”

Yes, yes I do have bad tan lines. That’s what happens when you spend two hours in the sun everyday wearing practice t-shirts and shorts. I’m sorry for my blindingly white thighs.

9. “Wow, you eat a lot.”

I know I do! Please continue to make me feel insecure about how much eat. Will that change anything? Nope. I work out a lot, too. I know I would be 300 pounds if it weren’t for my sport.

10. “Why don’t you ever go out, or hang out with us?”

Hmm...sleep, or force myself to stay awake while smiling and nodding, pretending I’m kind of awake. Also, it’s season! I can’t afford to be tired while trying to practice or, worse, playing a game.

Don’t get me wrong, athletes love our friends, but please understand if you do say or ask one of the 10 things above that this is what we will be thinking. If our true feelings slip out in an attitude-filled tone and an eye roll, you've been warned.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
