Just Jersey things.

10 Things Everyone From New Jersey Is Looking Forward To This Summer

Ah, summertime in New Jersey is quickly approaching and really there is nothing better. Everyone from every other state always has something negative to say about New Jersey. I attest it simply to just being jealous. New Jersey is more than just fist pumping and all the other ridiculous things you probably saw on "The Jersey Shore," we are the best state and everyone from New Jersey knows it. We don't pump our own gas and we have Wawa and those are just small highlights of what it is like to live here. With summer nearly right around the corner, here are the 10 best things about summertime in New Jersey.

PNC Concerts

PNC concerts are the move during the summer. Every year since I was a Freshman in high school Wiz Khalifa has played PNC and everyone goes. I mean literally at the lawn of PNC you always end up seeing people you know from the second grade.

The Jersey Shore

Yes we may actually fist pump at the club occasionally, but I promise, there is more to New Jersey than that, and there are other beaches than Seaside! If you're a "benny" (someone that is not a local), you go down the shore, but if you're a south Jersey native you simply just go to the beach. Us northerners live for The Parkway South, and our times down the shore during the summer day or weekend trip there really is no better place to be!

Bagels

OK, so I know I say this a lot, but seriously, Jersey Bagels are the greatest of all time. If you have never had one, I'm so sorry. But ask anyone from New Jersey what they cherish most and nine out of 10 times we will say our Bagels or Pizza.

Ice Cream Parlors

Now obviously every town in America must have a place to get ice cream, but you don't have a Hoffman's. Hoffman's is located in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. And if you live in New Jersey and go down the shore, you know about it or have been there. It is simply the best around.

Boardwalk Pizza

If you know someone from New Jersey you've probably had the fight of who has the better pizza, and we fight because we are right, duh. We have tons of places to get pizza all over our state, but nothing compares to being on the boardwalk in Seaside, or Point Pleasant, and eating a gigantic slice of authentic pizza.

The Diner

Something we also take pride in is our Diner's. Our highways are lined with them. And wherever you live you know that around 3 a.m., you can go and basically find everyone you went to High School with.

Six Flags (Great Adventure)

There is a constant debate over the name. To me, it's Great Adventure. But you might not trust me cause I claim I'm from "Central Jersey." Don't try and fight me on this, it's a real place!

Malls

We have some awesome malls and shopping centers in our State. The best of the best being The Garden State Plaza Mall, and if you're lucky you might even catch Fetty Wap there!

Baseball Games

Obviously it's baseball season, so Yankee fan or Mets you'll most likely be attending a game this summer.

High School Friends

last but certainly not least, coming home from college means getting to see all of your high school friends again. Enjoying New Jersey with all your old friends really makes the summer so memorable, New Jersey is the best, and so are the people that live here!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
