If you are from anywhere up north you probably are having that summertime sadness right about now. Cold weather and snow are your worst nightmare and you probably cannot wait for summer. I'm not one to talk because I go to college in Florida, but I am from New Jersey, so I know cold. And even though I go to school where there really is an endless summer I still go to school, yes I know my family and friends who see all my Instagram posts probably won't believe it but yes I do get an education down here! So I'm here to bring some sunshine to your cold and gray days up north and remind you that summer is right around the corner! Being a second-semester freshman with Spring Break on the horizon let me tell you summer is most definitely on my mind right about now.

1. Sleeping in late

One of my all time favorite things about summer is getting to sleep basically all day. It's just such a summer thing, having no responsibilities and being able to sleep until noon on a weekday. There is just something about this that makes me such a happier person.

2. Staying up late

Obviously, one of the many gifts of summer is being able to stay up until 3 a.m. doing absolutely nothing. Instead of being up until 3 a.m. cramming for a test you can literally Netflix until you can't Netflix any longer.

3. Friends from home

Being able to just chill with your friends from high school and getting to catch up with them and have it be like the old times is the most satisfying feeling.

4. The weather obviously

I'm blessed to have warm weather all year round but for my northerners being able to have a hot summer is critical. Time to get your tan on and finally see sunshine. Have no fear it is sooner than you think!

5. Beach trips

Three words: The Jersey Shore. Going to the beach during the summer is essential. Just thought of waking up early to drive down the shore with my best friends has me so pumped right now. Friendly reminder only 116 days until Summer 2016.

6. Family vacations

Nowadays, going on vacation with your family basically means finding a tropical island or country where you and your siblings can legally drink. Great memories are guaranteed.

7. Driving your own car

Being able to hop in your car and drive aimlessly just because you feel like it is one of the greatest things. I miss being able to just drive to a friends house or take a road trip. This summer will most definitely be filled with tons of adventures because that's what summer is all about!

8. No school.. duh.

Clearly summer means no school, no tests, no studying, no class, the list goes on. Basically complete freedom, ah summer really is the best time of year.

9. Good eats

I cannot wait to be back and have all my favorite food places for every meal. A Jersey bagel for breakfast and a good slice of pizza really nothing better than that!

10. Endless shopping trips

Something that is essential to me is oddly enough going shopping, this may just be me... but I know something I'm craving right now is a good leisurely stroll through Target with my mom...

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
