10 Struggles Of A Girl Who's Just "One Of The Guys"

Listen ladies, if you're anything like me, you have quite a few guy best friends. I'm a firm believer in the idea that guy friends are so much easier to deal with than girl friends. However, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

1. You are perceived as a "Bro"

If you ever wanted to date any of these guys, you're screwed. You know you've made it to this stage when you walk in the door and you are greeted with "It's about time you got here, bro!" Guys always complain about being friend-zoned, but that is nothing compared to the bro-zone.

2. You can handle your liquor as well as, if not better than they can

One of them is always passed out on the couch because they can't hang. You are usually left to make sure that one guy is still functional for the next few hours.

3. You understand sports and they never fail to quiz you

As a girl, you aren't allowed to just enjoy watching football (or any other sport) with your guy friends. They have to quiz you on the quarterback's high school records and the wide receiver's seventh cousin who's being drafted.

4. You can walk into their house whenever you want

You might think this is a good thing. Wrong! You walk in and there's a 99.9 prcent chance they are not wearing pants or any clothing at all. Regardless of how you feel about that person, you probably did not want to see that.

5. They call you by your last name or some other nickname

You are not exempt from the jokes and name calling just because you're a girl. There is also a good chance you don't call them by their actual name either, embrace it. Now even the dumbest nickname is a term of endearment while with friends.

6. When you dress nicely, they look at you as if you're an alien

To them, you aren't a girl so when you are wearing a dress they probably don't recognize you. You hangout with them in sweats and a t-shirt most of the time so what do you expect? Expect a comment like "Wow, (insert nickname here) looks like a girl for once."

7. When you get a boyfriend, your guy friends probably hate him

Somehow guy friends are way harder to impress than your own father. I pity the boy that tries to gain the approval of my guy friends. While they always have your back, they'll break his if he does you wrong.

8. They come to you with all their girl problems

If you have to hear, "Dude, I don't know what I did. I guess she didn't like when I ignored her at that party the other night," one more time, you might explode.

9. You've become Mom

You have probably taken care of at least one of your guy friends when he was sick or super hungover. You're always ready with band-aids, a bottle of water, ibuprofen, or whatever the aliment calls for.

10. You have to help them shop for their girlfriends

They never know what to buy, so you're always right there with a list of possible options because somehow their list composed of a case of beer and a flower is not making the cut.

As much as your guy friends might annoy you, they still support you no matter what. You wouldn't trade them for anything and they mean more to you than they'll ever know. They have seen you at your worst and still thought you were the best. So, shout out to you boys. Keep being great.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
