With all the music out there in the world I can’t be the only one who feels like the radio is cheating them out of some good music. Music is the soul of society. It is something so deep and pure that you can’t help but love it. And because I love it I feel compelled to share a few of my favorites that never made it to the ears of radio listeners. Here they are:

Life @ 11 –A Day to Remember

This song is about being on the verge of change. It’s a song tells you that change is sometimes better, and that you should be the one deciding when it’s time to change, not others. This is a good song that is relevant 99% of the time.

This is letting go –Rise Against

This is a beautiful song. It’s also by one of my all-time favorite bands. It’s about letting go of the things you can’t hold on to, and about accepting that the more you learn the less you actually seem to know

There’s no going back –Sick Puppies

This song is about accepting the past and looking towards the future. Too many of us hold on to things we cannot go back and change, and this is a reminder to let it go, and enjoy life.

Million Man March –Lowkey

The pen is mightier than the sword. Words are powerful, use them wisely, and use them over using violence any day.

Hysteria –Muse

The bass line in this song. That’s the reason you should listen to this, the only reason… Okay as a bass player I might be a little biased, but… it is a really good song that will easily get stuck in your head in a good way.

Build your cages –Pulse Ultra

This is an older one, and fans of Need for Speed might recognized it as a song from one of the games. Even though it is from a while back this song never gets old.

Faithless – All that Remains

This one is a catchy one, fair warning. After I first heard it I couldn’t get it out of my head for a solid month. Don’t let that scare you though, the song is definitely amazing and is worth listening to.

Glory and Gore -Lorde

The one Lorde song I never seem to hear on the radio. This one is just as good as her other hits that blast on your car speakers once or twice during the day.

Citizen Soldier -3 Doors Down

This is a good song with a lot of meaning behind it. Heroes are everywhere, and can be anyone.

People that we Love –Bush

This is another older song and is also on a Need for Speed sound track. Bush has an iconic sound that makes their music timeless. This was the first song I ever heard by them and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
