Sometimes, you just need to feel good about something. Other times you might feel like you need to be in control. There is a perfect and simple thing that you could do to combine the two:being kind. You might find that when completing any of these random acts of kindness that kindness is contagious.

1. Write positive a positive message on a sticky note

Leave your sticky note with the words "your voice could change the world," or something similar to that in a place where someone can see it. Some good places would include the bathroom, the office kitchen or even in an elevator.

2. Cut the plastic pop and beer holders before throwing them away/recycling them

Animals appreciate kindness too! After seeing Happy Feet at the theaters when it came out and seeing all of those sad ocean waste videos on Facebook, I always remember to do this, and I feel good about it every time.

3. Cuddle a dog or cat at an animal shelter

They always need to be reminded that they are still loved! Plus, who wouldn't like to cuddle an animal for a while?

4. Give your waiter/waitress a very generous tip

Much more than you would normally tip because you're feeling kind! They will remember you in a good way and you will make their day.

5. If you like someone's work they created, say so!

When someone puts all of their blood, sweat and tears into something, one of the best feelings that they can receive is a compliment on their work.

6. Bring in treats to a group of people

Whether you have a student organization meeting, a work meeting, or you have a small class session to attend, bring in some treats! It can be unexpected which will change people's attitudes.

7. Create a starter kit for a friend who is going through a new chapter in life

Let's be real: change is scary af. But, it makes it a whole lot easier when you are equipped with the right tools and amour to handle it. Let's say your friend is moving to a new state for a job offer they just accepted. DIY them a new job starter kit!

8. Make someone a playlist of songs that remind you of them

It will make them feel all warm and loved! Plus, everyone loves playlists now-a-days.

9. Pay for someone's meal

Paying for the meal always comes after the damage has been done on the plate, but then comes more damage to your wallet once the bill comes. Make someone's day by saving them that last step, and it might inspire them to do the same to someone else.

10. Actually participate in someone's survey on Facebook

I know you see them on your Facebook timeline because it's that time of year: projects and exams! Help be a part of that person's data collection and learn about something new!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
