I am an avid Disney World go-er and Disney movie watcher. I promised I'm qualified to tell you which Disney movies you're missing out on.
10. Extremely Goofy Movie
As of a couple years ago, I can fully relate to this movie. Goofy's son Max leaves for college and tries to think he can be popular and ignore his dad. He comes to find out that his dad is one of the coolest people he knows....sort of.
9. Hercules
Coolest. Hero. Ever. Also, Hades is one of the best Disney villains out there.
8. Mulan II
SAVIOR OF CHINA. Disney knew one film about Mulan just wasn’t enough and boy, were they right. It’s definitely not as good as the original, but it’s one of the better Disney sequels.
7. Hunchback of Notre Dame
We're all aware that this movie is a little scary for a standard Disney movie. But in the eyes of a child, this movie is about outcasts finding their way in society. Everyone is to be accepted by everyone. And as an adult, it's so much more. Nobody can listen to "God Help the Outcasts" and not be moved.
6. Sword in the Stone
This movie teaches kids that bullying is not okay and not to underestimate the little guy.
5. Pocahontas II
Disney's tiny attempt to right its historical wrongs, but also John Rolfe > John Smith
4. Little Mermaid II
Ariel’s daughter wants to be a mermaid but doesn’t know her mom was one. There’s so much drama, it could be an entire season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
3. Dumbo
Despite the fact that the film’s titular character has no speaking lines, Dumbo teaches children that imperfections do not set you back, but rather help you become who you are meant to be. And then there’s the song, “Baby Mine.” Makes me cry every time.
2. Oliver and Company
Did you like Secret Life of Pets? Me too, but this one is better. So many great songs and Oliver is the cutest kitten ever. #adoptdontshop
AND FINALLY,
1. Princess and the Frog
I have no idea why nobody talks about this movie. New Orleans is the perfect setting for a Disney movie. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this movie. Girl power, voodoo, jazz, singing alligators and fireflies...what more could you want?? Also, Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Tiana, has, arguably, the best singing voice of any Disney princess.
