Naps are an essential part of human life, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Everyone loves naps, but not all people get the time to have a solid nap. Don't get me wrong, quick 10 minute naps can do the job, but there is just something about a full 1 to 2 hour nap. Sure, it might throw you off for the rest of the day, but remember to rejoice in small victories. Like actually having the time to take such a long nap. With these naps, there are a few signs which really show you the nap was a success. Here are a few...

1. Drool.

You know the nap was restful if you wake up with a puddle on the pillow beneath you. Might be a little gross, but at least you slept well. Plus, a little drool never hurt anybody. Just hope it's your pillow you drooled on and not someone else's

2. Sleep Marks.

Whether on your face or arms, those creases are the sign you slept hard. I always feel accomplished if I wake up with marks on my face. Take a picture of those marks and put in on snapchat, because that is an accomplishment worthy of bragging.

3. Bedhead

As someone who loves his hair and needs it to look perfect, this one can be a bit frustrating. On the plus side, this means you weren't worried about it as you slept which means you slept hard and good. I am willing to sacrifice my hair if it means I get such a good nap.

4. You Wake Up Alert

It is an amazing feeling, waking up feeling rested and ready to go. It might be that it is 9 at night and you won't go to bed until 2 in the morning now, buy oh well. Waking up so rested can be beneficial if you have much to get done, because you finally have the motivation to get that giant list of tasks done.

5. You're Just A Bit Disoriented

What year is it? Did I sleep too long? Many questions like this run through your mind at the speed of light until you look at your clock and realize it has only been 40 minutes. That split second of time where you're extremely concerned is completely worth it, finding out you didn't sleep the whole day away.

6. The Stretch After

A full body stretch from toes to fingertips that refreshes your body even more is a feeling like no other. Maybe a couple bones cracking in your back and neck to emphasize just how well you slept.

7. Your Friends Thought You Died

Everyone is so addicted to social media and always needs to see the latest notifications. You know you slept hard when you slept through a major Facebook fight, 3 calls from your mom, and your best friend texting you about their new love interest.

8. Your Stress Lowers

You might be dealing with some tough situations in life, and naps don't make them go away, but they allow you to get those things off your mind. They might be there when you wake up, but at least you got some rest to better handle those situations.

All in all, naps are great. Whether your 18 or 85, always remember to take time for at least one nap in your week. You will thank me later.

PS - I wrote this article after I woke up from one of the best naps of my life and experienced all 8 of these reasons.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
