The 5 female YouTubers you NEED to be watching

We all were entertained when the “Charlie bit my finger” video went viral. We all were entertained when “Damn Daniel” went viral. What do these two videos and other viral videos have in common? YouTube, that’s what. YouTube has taken over the blogger universe and allowed others to share their voices and talents with the world — straight from their computers.

“YouTubers,” or the term used to describe someone who creates videos for their channel and posts them on a calendar basis, make their living by creating said videos. We all love their relatable, comedic taste they seem to bring to our computer screens. They create on subjects related to anything from lifestyle, fashion, beauty, music, comedy, gaming and so much more. Some examples of said YouTubers are Jenna Marbles, PewdiPie and Zoella. Personally, some of my favorite Youtubers are Alisha Marie, Mia Stammer and Aspyn Ovard.

Many of these people and others have created a life for themselves on YouTube. They gain hundreds of thousands of subscribers, get thousands of likes on their videos and actually receive money from YouTube itself for their content. They travel to conventions where they meet their fans and other Youtubers. It's almost like they're the Kardashians.

Has YouTube become the next generation? Nowadays, people watch their television mostly online — Netflix, Hulu, Xfinity and YouTube. The 21st century has opened up a whole new world of watching television. They can binge watch "Grey's Anatomy" in a week (me). More specifically, it has opened up another way of becoming famous. Today, the average Joe can become famous because of six seconds. Six seconds — that’s all it takes. That's all it takes for me to be the next Kardashian or Alex from Target. The many video stars we see today have become famous because of these six second videos, or Vines. Vine, a product of Twitter, has become a global phenomenon that has billions of viewers.

Here is my opinion of the top five YouTubers — ranked on lifestyle videos.

5. Aspyn Ovard.

A lifestyle blogger/vlogger, she is married at 20 years old. She makes videos related to makeup, hair and fashion. Who gets married at 20 years old and has a successful YouTube channel? Only her.

4. Jenna Marbles.

A comedian at best, she makes videos relatable to all ages, especially college students. She makes these videos for comedic humor, sometime rants, but it's all in good heart. One of her most recent videos, "Thoughts from a Bathtub" include some of her thoughts from a bathtub. Seriously so relatable, right? Her dogs, Marbles and Kermit are known to make appearances on her weekly videos, posted on Wednesday or Thursday.

3. Mia Stammer.

Everything about her is ultimate goals: her hair, her makeup, her dog, her apartment. Like the others before her, she makes videos related to fashion, beauty and lifestyle. From her everyday makeup tutorial to her morning/afternoon/night routines, her videos are ones to watch if you're ever in need of a quick hair fix.

2. Caitlin Bea.

If you ever need a makeup tutorial, watch her videos. A fellow sorority girl, she does your makeup tutorials, hairstyle tutorials and she even has her own cooking show. Also, she does her various drunk spontaneous videos.

1. Alisha Marie.

With her quirks and antics, she makes random videos on anything fashion, makeup tutorials and simple routine videos. She also makes vlogs, or video blogs, going about her day-to-day life. Definitely watch her videos if you're into a relatable, funny comedian.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
