Some of us haven't jumped on the "obsessed with the gym" bandwagon quite yet, and although we admire the people who have, we still don't understand how people go there every single day. No matter how many times we proclaim our need to go to the gym, it's rare that we actually go and when we do, that calls for a celebration, which of course ruins all the progress we made.
When your friends ask you if you want to go to the gym with them later, and you find any and all excuses not to go.
Eventually, you run out of excuses and get ready to go. Yet somehow, even though you've already put your sneakers on, the gym-hating person inside of you backs out at the last minute.
After your friends convince you that you have to go in order to get in shape for spring break, you reluctantly go with the mindset that you'll hate every second of it. Ten minutes into your time on the Arc Trainer, you begin to deteriorate and start thinking about all the places you'd rather be.
A few days pass by, and you know it's about time for you to get back to the gym but you just really, really don't want to go. Especially considering your legs are still sore from the last time you went. But then you think about having to wear a bikini for spring break and try to convince yourself that maybe it won't be so bad even though you remember how much you hated it last time.
After you get into the routine of going, as much as you hate it, it's always nice when you notice the results of your hard work for the first time when you're getting ready to go out. OK, so you realize that maybe the gym isn't so bad after all. But you know that you'll never be one of those people who feels great every time they run six miles and lift 200 pounds.
