The world can be a lonely place. People come and go out of our lives and our hearts can be tattered in the process. There is no way to make this not happen. Humans are meant to be together to try to love one another, and while this is a hard concept to grasp, it is one that we must learn to live with. The world does not owe you a single thing, but you owe yourself something and that's love. Learn to enjoy yourself, have compassion for yourself and love the human you are evolving into.
It will take work; self love is a skill that could take days, weeks and years. For some it will come easy and others it will take a lifetime. Learning to see yourself as more than just a body walking around takes a sense of urgency to figure yourself out. You're not just a pile of bones working a 9-5 shift at a dead end job, so quit treating yourself like that. You are a soul filled with wonder and awe adventuring around this planet looking for answers. You are more than just some teenager who can't figure out what to do with their life. You are a flourishing new beginning waiting for the right moment to explode with greatness.
You have compassion for others, you walk the old lady across the street and hold the door open for others. Why shouldn't you treat yourself that way. Remember to give yourself a break and realize that it will be okay. The simple things you beat yourself up over do not matter in the grand scheme of things, whatsoever. Take a deep breath, then realize that you are so much better than the negative comments you utter to yourself every other minute. Silence the voice telling you that you are worthless and replace it with activities and mantras that make you happy. It starts off slow, but then it erases completely.
Be loyal to yourself. This is a good starting ground. Learn to keep promises of happiness and good company to your own soul. No one has to know these secrets you keep; they're for you and your own selfishness. And that's the second step: be selfish. Know that there are times where you and your intentions only are the ones that matter. Some people will understand and some won't, but that's okay because you're working on yourself.
There are going to be days where none of this seems to matter and you want to regress to blaming yourself. Then there will be the days of acceptance and gratitude for the human you are. Take both of them with grains of salt, because the world is ever changing and so are you. You're a lifetime of hard work and an eternity of appreciation. The world opens up more with love; open your own world first and learn to love who you are.
