As Christopher Robin once told Winnie the Pooh, "You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." That quote has been admired and loved ever since it passed Christopher's animated lips. It's quotes such as these that allow people to have faith when faith seems unreachable. With the help of this quote and many crazy experiences, I've learned that I'm much more capable than I could've ever hoped to be. And though it may not seem like it, you are too.
Although it may not seem like it, our capabilities are measured entirely by us. While others think they know how much we can do or what it is that we can do, that's not entirely accurate. Now this isn't saying that when your boss tells you to do a certain job at work, you can retaliate. Your boss is your boss for a reason, and like it or not, you're obliged to do as they ask. On the other hand though, it's entirely up to you to do your best and fulfill the task to the best of your capabilities. Times such as these, especially in the past year, helped me realize that I was underestimating myself. I did what I thought was my best because I didn't believe that what I could do to make something better was an attainable goal. Little did I know, that wasn't at all true and I could've improved the event significantly had I just believed in my thought and set it to action. The "I probably tried my best, but I'm not really sure" mindset can drag anyone behind. It's difficult to shake that mindset off because it's something that we're kind of trained to think, but it isn't impossible. We've done separated ourselves from that mindset before, and we've landed people on the moon because of it. We are a people who like to push the envelope and accept a new challenge. We like to take things one step further than necessary just to prove that we can. And in those moments, we realize how truly capable we are. We can change the world if we choose to. It's all about believing in yourself, your thoughts, and your dreams.
So take a moment and recognize your own capability. You can run a mile, you can fix your car, you can change your life. Take on new challenges and try new things every day. It's up to you to choose to believe in yourself. It's time for you to realize how much you are genuinely capable of doing and decide what you want to do with that capability because I promise you, you can change the world. All it takes is that small moment of recognition. You can do anything, so go do anything.
