This month we marched across the country to alert the world that we are not going to sit still. We protested for the right to our bodies, for equal pay, and even to protest for the ones that can't. But now that the Women's March is over, we still need to continue. So here is a list of organizations to help us achieve that goal.
1. Emily’s List
Most people when working towards their job aspirations have people they look up towards as role models. So imagine being a white man wanting to go into politics. You literally have your pick of who you want to emulate ranging from Bill Clinton to Paul Ryan. But imagine being a young black girl wanting to go into politics your choices become sizably limited. Emily’s List is an amazing organization that helps elect pro-choice Democratic women into office so we finally have a government that reflects the American people.
2. Time's Up
Time is up. We are finally taking sexual assault and harassment in the workplace with the severity it has always deserved. TIME'S UP initiative is to improve laws and employment agreements to ensure women and men are being held accountable by our legal system for their actions. Their legal defense fund will help support individuals by pairing them with an extensive legal system to fight workplace harassment.
3. Lean In
Lean In is an organization that has successfully connected working women from all over the world to support networks. They can meet with a small group and learn new skills whether its coding or discussing future goals.
Just because the Women's March is over does not mean the fight is done. We have so much left to accomplish and organizations like these make it a bit easier. So whether you want to run for president and need some backing or you're trying to ask for a promotion here are people to help you.
